1964 World's Fair
Revealing my age, I remember reading about and looking at pictures of this fair in Life Magazine as a child. But I couldn't remember what ride took guests through it in automobiles. I found this on youtube, and thought some of you might be interested. You'll recognize it as DLR's primeval world. Walt's voice talks you through the journey.

Re: 1964 World's Fair
I have a CD set of audio from the Disney attractions at the '64 World's Fair. It includes the Skyway, Carousel of Progress, it's a small world, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, and Progressland. The set has different versions of the CoP songs and IASW. It's a very neat set.

It is. I was still on Main Street when we started carrying it in the parks and I had to get it after seeing it. Here it is on Amazon so you can see some details on it. I had both CoP and IASW stuck in my head for days when I listened to there respective CDs.Ms. Matterhorn wrote:That's pretty cool, Shorty!

A few years ago I was working on an audio training program for Monorails and came across the actual recording files of Walt for this attraction. Very, very cool.

Interesting thing, he recorded each statement much farther apart (in time) than what guests heard on their preset radios in their Ford automobiles. They cut out several minutes of silence overall. Makes sense, really.

Makes sense that the recorded voice came through the car radio too, though I never thought of that. The whole thing just fascinates me, and you can see how the concept was a forerunner of the Haunted Mansion and Adventure Through Inner Space.
