Now this is one I haven't heard yet! However if this becomes a reality I'd be willing to bet on 2013-2014 for a time line at least considering the massive 2012 MK expansion opening. Epcot really needs to love and time put into it. Normally I'm against attractions taking on a wildly different change like this but Energy really does need it to keep it alive.Goofyernmost wrote:I'm not a gambler but I would put money on the fact that you have plenty of time left before Energy becomes an indoor roller coaster. Well as far as timeline goes... MK's update does not stop with Fantland... T-land is next.... COP will be closing, boxed up, and shipped to Washington DC as part of an exhibit at the Smithsonian.. and the PARK1 will be transformed from a parking lot to the t-land expansion.
When it comes to EPCOT's expansion.. it is not based on MK's timeline for completion... its a separate budget. They have 2 or 3 new countries that will be moving in as part of the expansion... as well as rehabs at future world attractions.
AK will be closing camp m/m to move Festival of the Lion King back to africa, and then converting the area to a new land... from what I have been told Australia is on the way... they are currently in a breeding program for kangaroo's.
Rumor has it that DHS will be getting an expansion also... bigger then what people all ready know about... A couple of shows will close and their sets will be struck for part of the expansion.
All of this has to be done and finish before the 50th...
I have more secrets that I know but will not go into right now.... =-)

Well, WDW does have the money to pull it off and with luck it'll be done properly (As in, Imagination which started this whole interesting bit of convo). I've heard some of these rumors but not all of them, from fairly well trusted sources (Friends who still work at the parks and owe me money/favors/drinks). The DHS expansion rumor has been floating about for years (since even I worked there). It'll be interesting to see what hatches out of the these juicy bits! Although I heard Disney has been courting Brazil as one of the possible new countries in Epcot, I was hoping more along the lines of Russia or Australia personally.
 Little Devil Voice inside my Head: You really just want another cool place to spend copious amounts of money and drink in Epcot besides Japan and China you lair!
I think the playground was gone when the major overhaul of the ride happened before they put figment back into play due to the massive outcry. Yeah. Adam is a pretty cool dude doing a lot of theme park and tourist area exploration. Nice to see someone is keeping up with it since we moved away!
Wow, was it '98? Geeze, the years are starting to roll together.

Wow! You just made my heart skip a beat! That would all be wonderful. So, to your knowledge, if you can say, are these blue sky, pitches or actual budgetted plans?Doctor McKey wrote:Well as far as timeline goes... [snip]

I hope not...I have always really liked COP for some reason. I guess b/c my Dad has always been a fan. He rode it at the World's Fair before it came to the parks.Doctor McKey wrote:Well as far as timeline goes... MK's update does not stop with Fantland... T-land is next.... Hmmm. I glossed right over that with all the other goodies. I would really miss the COP, too.kerbear135 wrote:I hope not...I have always really liked COP for some reason. I guess b/c my Dad has always been a fan. He rode it at the World's Fair before it came to the parks.

Re: ANOTHER Figment?
Well... to answer your question(s) most of what I have told are planned projects that have been shelved and unshelved several times for one reason or another... but the water cooler talk has been loud as of late about several projects. Surveyors have been spotted plotting land tracts around the property for what I am to be told a super parking structure... Think TTC that connects all parks and most of the hotels into one area adjacent to the highway ( I4 )... now this pure rumor until Mickey himself says its true... if it is true.. then the rumored 5th park could be in play along with the expansions of several parks that would take over their parkinglots as their new areas of construction.WEDFan wrote:Wow! Some of the other intell I have i have known for over 2 years amd recently ( as in jan of this year ) shared with BW about Big Brother-ish tracking of guests and employees via a RFID system. Its going to be billed as a way to help interactive ques and what not.. but I have a good feeling that it will be more devious then that. I hear that employee's are starting to be switched to a new id that has an embedded RFID chip in it. The Orlando Sentinal did a small piece that got buried in the paper about how the WED team went to a RFID conference and trade show....

If they add Australia, I know where they can get kookaburras. Not cheap, but take a gander at the Murray McMurray's Hatchery site; they used to sell year old male kookaburrras, but now they sell both genders and as youngsters. They feed mainly on snakes.
