Yes, if they remember to load the gun. I find this rather ironic...Big Wallaby wrote: I think at DL they still do. I am not sure. Anyone know for sure?

Re: And now we're all deaf...
Would not surprise me if DL still did, at least at the time of my last trip there. I seem to recall going twice on the Jungle Cruise, because the line was short and it was a good way to relax. On one go through, the gun failed to go off, and the classic back-up line was used: "See? They are scared off by that clicking noise...."
I do seem to recall that there is now something I believe is called the "Un-gun". It is a prop firearm that, when the trigger is pulled, uses an LED to simulate the muzzle flash, and a chip plays the gunshot sound effect. It was designed as an alternative to using real guns with blanks, as even then there is a chance at injury.

My personal favorite with the gun on a wire at WDW was when one of the skippers fired it a couple dozen times in rapid succession, turned around and said, "Not bad for a six-shooter, eh?"
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

The only response to that would be, "Aw, I see you stole an action hero's gun, you might want to return it before they come looking for you." :p:Big Wallaby wrote:My personal favorite with the gun on a wire at WDW was when one of the skippers fired it a couple dozen times in rapid succession, turned around and said, "Not bad for a six-shooter, eh?"

The last time I went on the Jungle Cruise was 2006 and the guns made a popping noise then. I know what gunfire is supposed to sound like and it didn't sound like a natural gunfire.Big Wallaby wrote:I think at DL they still do. I am not sure. Anyone know for sure?
Haven't been on it recently, though.
Re: And now we're all deaf...
Yeah, they brought back the "shooting" guns since awhile ago. There was a period of time that we didn't have them. That was awhile ago though.
RIP Bud Hurlbut.
You will be missed.

I think that was one of the things that former skipper John Lassiter did when he took his current position in the company.Freak wrote:Yeah, they brought back the "shooting" guns since awhile ago. There was a period of time that we didn't have them. That was awhile ago though.
