ANOTHER Figment?
Re: ANOTHER Figment?
Geese, the Imagination Pavillion is pretty front and center for it to be empty like WOL, which I think is more set back. That would look AWFUL. I think Apple would be a great sponser there.
Re: ANOTHER Figment?
Apple would be very cool, actually so would Microsoft or even Xbox!
They could bring back the Imagination Playground upstairs, think of all the really amazing things either company could do. With Apple it could be painting with iPads and with Microsoft/Xbox dancing with Kinect.
In addition both have enough money to afford sponsoring a pavilion, would just have to be careful it didn't turn into "Buy our CRAP!" which would ruin the feel. Although I'm pretty sure they've got limits and restrictions on that kind of thing for sponsors.
I can't believe Wonders of Life is still empty. Especially with this "Active and Fit" movement business being stuffed down our collect gullets daily. It's far more active and "in your face" then it ever was in the 90's so I can't believe it's still empty sometimes If one of the big health giants had a quarter of a brain, they'd snag that thing up!
Oh that's an idea! Create a post of "How to Re-Open the Wonders of Life Pavilion". Such as what would you put into it, what should be included (New, Old, Rides, Shows, Ect), Food and such. I think it'd be fun to hear everyone's ideas for it. Then we could go around and fix the rest of the Pavilions in turn..
What'cha all think?

I love it. I have a couple companies in mind, and I think we should send an anonymous e-mail.Darksin wrote:Oh that's an idea! Create a post of "How to Re-Open the Wonders of Life Pavilion". My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

When the M$ stuff goes to the blue screen of death, they could do some cool dance club music, mix it with the red ring of death on the Xbox and you could have a real party!

Re: ANOTHER Figment?
I agree that a new sponsor could help Imagination immensely. Siemens has been a godsend for Spaceship Earth. Regardless of what you think about the new narration or the video screens in the final decline, the new animatronics are great, and the Project Tomorrow post-show is a million times better than having the area walled off and the ride emptying out into a cramped hallway. It was like that for years, and then BAM, Siemens comes in and fixes everything. So a sponsor can definitely help make some majorly positive changes to a pavilion!
It'd be awesome if MS or Apple could come in and spruce up the ride, as well as open up the top floor and pack it with cool hands-on activities. As it stands now, the whole pavilion is just depressing. I HATE walking that queue, knowing I'm stepping on the remains of the old ride track.

Let's not forget Apples favorite "Logic Board Failure".ktulu wrote:When the M$ stuff goes to the blue screen of death, they could do some cool dance club music, mix it with the red ring of death on the Xbox and you could have a real party!
Everyone complains about the "Red ring o' death" for the Xbox. It never happened to us and we had our grubby mitts on the 360 original within 30 minutes of release. We tried to kill the damn thing, it wouldn't die.. finally in December of 2010 the graphics card died. Yeah we could have replaced it cheaper then buying a new one... but ended up just buying a new one (We wanted the cool black one with Kinect). We still have a living, breathing original Xbox too.
Back to imagination..
I think getting that upstairs playground re-opened would be a massive help to the pavilion and there is NO excuse for it even to be closed. Everything is still up there just collecting dust (Same counts for Wonders of Life). It wouldn't even cost a million to get it up to modern snuff and running like magic, it confounds my mind (when I'm not busy accusing Dr. Channing of murdering the Dreamfinder that is). Any of the big technology companies could jump on Imagination at this point. They've all got tablets, in my head I see images of the "Paint with Figment" via tablet floating threw my head. Dancing with figment via Motion Capture and screens. Bring back the pin tables and the Rainbow tunnel, everyone LOVES them. Why not put up Figment or Disney based games on the floor like you see at the mall? I mean the ideas are simply endless! If that isn't the spirit of imagination, then I've got some serious self evaluation to do!
Wonders of Life is in an even sadder state, it's leaking and obviously hasn't been maintained to any sort of real standard. The thought of Buzzy in Cranium Command gathering dust makes me cringe and want to go barge threw the doors to dust him off myself. Why someone like Whole Foods or even Kashi hasn't jumped on it shocks me. Bring back those "Disney Cycle" things, they where cool and always busy. Sell your healthy food and snacks, do a show like "Kitchen Kaberat" was about balanced diets. Change up Body Wars for something like Osmosis Jones (only more family friendly) and you'd have a hit! Why does it seem like non-employees are the only people who THINK of this stuff anymore?!
*FUSTRATION* :choke:
Time to lock the Imagineers in the room and flip pancakes under the doors till they have good ideas on fixing things again! Then lock the management in offices with rice cakes tossed under the door till they approve it!

Re: ANOTHER Figment?
Yeah...not as common as the blue screen of death :) Out of all of the macs I've either managed or used, only one died, a laptop that traveled with me and got tons of use. The only issue with it was the connection between the monitor and the logic board, the graphics port worked fine. Apple got it repaired and back to me in 3 days, just in time for me to go out of town and do a presentation.Darksin wrote:Let's not forget Apples favorite "Logic Board Failure".

Yeah, it doesn't look too bad up there. A bit of a mess, but I can't imagine it would take more than a week to clean it up enough to start bringing guests up there again.Darksin wrote: I think getting that upstairs playground re-opened would be a massive help to the pavilion and there is NO excuse for it even to be closed. Here's a video taken recently of the area:

Re: ANOTHER Figment?
Let's not make this an "Apple vs. Microsoft" debate. It is old hat. I will say, though, I would think Apple would have the inside track, considering Mr. Jobs' position with Disney.
One regret I have is that, even if I ever make it to WDW, I will never be able to see the original version of Imagination, and will have to make do listening to "One Little Spark" from the CD of Disney music I purchased on a trip to Disneyland.
