I used to drive school kids but I didn't threaten anyone with the thought of an accident. All I did was pull the bus over, walk to the middle of the bus and tell them that it was way to loud in here and I needed to be able to hear outside noises to be safe.

That usually worked but if I started to move and the noise level increased, I would simply pull over again, get out of my seat walk to the middle and lean against one of the seats and say..."I have asked nicely for everyone to calm down a little. You have decided that it wasn't important that I wanted that to happen, so here's the deal. I will keep stopping this bus until the noise level becomes tolerable. If it takes all afternoon to get you home, it doesn't matter to me because I'm making overtime doing this and I have all day." I would follow through with it too. I would just keep stopping until they finally figured out that I was serious. It only had to happen once or twice before they got the message that I was serious.

When I was in grade school, we had this one bus driver who would get so annoyed at everybody talking, etc. on the school bus that he once stopped. He told us to pay attention and be quiet, then he told us a story about a bus that had so many noisy kids on it, that the driver became distracted, resulting in a horrible accident. Then he walked down the aisle, stopped at the middle, and said that the bus was crumpled up to that point. Three kids were dead. Then he told us that if we wanted to keep being noisy and we didn't believe him, we could just wait until it happened to us, and when they got through carrying out the dead bodies we would see how right he was. That really got us. And at least once before, he'd yell "SHUT UP!!!!" at us. We'd quiet down, but sooner or later the noise level would gradually rise. I was never a talker on the bus. He was a grumpy old guy who probably only took the job to supplement his retirement income.

:D: hahahahaha CMs should be able to use that in the Haunted Mansion. It starts to get loud and noisy, the CM walks to the middle and says "If you don't shut up, I can't pay attention and people are gonna die! It happened once, and I'll make it happen again!"

That was the funny thing...they never were a problem on the way too school. They were always half asleep, eyes glazed over and quiet. It was on the way home, after consuming truckloads of sugar all day that they acted up.

Hello all! I am new here. I am not a CM, just a frequent WDW visitor with a SG story to tell. We visited WDW about a month ago, and spent a day at DAK. When we arrived, KS was down due to "technical issues"- but despite the CMs standing in front of the entrance, we save SEVERAL people walk up and try to get on the ride. Imagine their surprise when the CM wasn't just standing there in front of the entrance for the heck of it. The real kicker ...the CMs standing there weren't fortune tellers and had no idea how long it would take to fix whatever was wrong...as you can imagine, this caused several SG much distress, as I'm sure most of you CMs have experienced before.
Fast foward, the ride finally came back on line again and we got a chance to ride. We board the ride vehicle, and lucky us there is a whole role of giggly 10 yr old girls behind us. The ride begins and we hit the road...and every-single-time we see an animal, the row behind us starts SCREAMING We're not talking "Mommy, look at that", we're talking just plain screaming (and no, they weren't scared or anything). The SG parents must have been deaf, however, because they seemed oblivous to the noise their unruly children were making, as well as requests from other guests to turn their children down a notch. They must have been blind too, because the dirty looks from all the guests in the rows in front of them (and they were towards the back) went unnoticed too :mad: . I mean, I'm all for children being excited at WDW..they probably saw animals they've never seen before...but when you're making the whole ride vehicle deaf, and being loud enough to scare animals away, it's time to dial down the enthuasim just a tad...The poor driver just went on with his job, regardless of the fact that none of the rest of us could hear a thing he said. Needless to say, we were more than happy to high-tail it outta there...

I am not a CM so any CM's please excuse me if I am being a "SG" with this comment. But if I were the driver, I would have pulled to the exit. let the annoying people get off, then took everyone else around for a nice quiet ride.

When I was kid riding the bus home from school one afternoon, 2 kids started fist fighting. We were an a bridge that was a couple miles long. The bus driver pulled into the emergency lane and parked. She turned around in her seat and told the boys to duke it out. She said they need to finish the fight so we could get moving again. A couple minutes later a state trooper was driving by and stopped, since there was a school bus full of kids in the emergency lane. The bus driver explained that these 2 boys were fighting and she couldn't drive with kids in the aisle. The officer told the boys to get off the bus and he took them home.

Speaking of going deaf, I remember when the Jungle Cruise use to use real blanks in their guns. Talk about a wake up call!

There were times where people who were on with loud people got to go around twice. The second time, I would give them the choice of listening to Wilson (I promised he did the same performance every time) or would they like a more... personal tour?

I think at DL they still do. I am not sure. Anyone know for sure?
