We had a white rug... once. We got it a about a month before we got a dog, and we knew we were planning on getting a dog. Within the first two days of having him, he threw up on the white rug. Not on any of the tile or hardwood floors, but on the white rug. We looked at each other and both said "What were we thinking?" There was, of course, no answer to that. :D:

One of the secrets about Maui is the red dust. It gets on everything and into everything. The house we bought has a tiled first floor but the stairs and entire second floor are white carpet.

It didn't take too long to see a fading trail of red leading up the stairs. Once we got our first dog, who hasn't learned how to wipe her feet, it's gotten even worse. The carpet cleaning company is on my wife's speed call list.
