Sleep Number Beds?
Sleep Number Beds?
So I'm this close to getting a sleep number bed... the C4 edition. Anyone know anything about them that I should know? Thanks in advance for the advice.
"How much are the mugs? Well the 13 large signs at eye level all say the mugs are $12.99.. so I'm gonna go with that."
Re: Sleep Number Beds?
On a writer's forum I'm on, the biggest complaint about them is that the air rushing in and out of them when the number is adjusted was loud. One person slept in one at a hotel, and it had an air leak. See if you can find a hotel or someplace where you can try one out before you buy it.
Myself, if I had my own place, would like a canopy bed, but all the ones I see online are either for little girls or don't match what I have in mind for style. But if I had one, I bet putting heavy curtains all around would help keep me warm in winter, thus saving on energy.

LOVE sleep number beds. Help a lot with my massive joint and back issues.
Some are noisier than others- and I don't know for sure which model you're getting but be sure you try to listen carefully when you try it out at the store (if you can get to one) or call and see if you can ask which ones are quieter.
One thing I noticed for sure- they do seem to work better on the foundation they sell to go with it. We bought an extended twin for my daughter right before she ended up deciding to go live with her Dad and I've actually been sleeping on it for the past few months now and the difference between that and the old box spring we put the queen one in the master bedroom on is considerable. It feels much firmer when you pump it to a higher setting.
But in short- I would definitely purchase them again. best part I think is being able to adjust the sides to separate settings for each person sleeping in it (though be careful, if you're gonna get cozy if one of you likes it a lot softer...well, you can feel like you've fallen into quicksand and can't get back out LOL. Equalize the settings first :o :)
hope that helps.

PS neither of ours had issues with leaks- but be sure to be up on their return/exchange policy just in case! I don't remember what it was but I know it's good (ours was anyway and we've had the large mattress at least what, seven years I think? Has to be by now. Still working fine. One thing they did tell us recently though was to be sure to plug it into a surge protector to protect the motor!)

Re: Sleep Number Beds?
Go to a Sleep Number place and get your number. Then call a Radisson and book it for three nights. Why do I say three?
The first night it probably won't feel right. A lot of people stay at Radisson and don't like the beds because of that.
Second night you start getting used to it.
After a third night, you will know for sure. At the end of it, you may have spent $450 (I can't think of a Radisson worth spending more than that, and if you're near Portland I can get you a GREAT deal), but it'll be money well spent, because you'll know how the bed worked for you.
As far as the noise, yes. They make noise. There is a pump, and it pushes air into or out of the mattress. But you shouldn't need to adjust it that often.
And as always, your mileage may vary.

I want to get one of those beds that lets you sit up in bed, like they have in hospitals. Probably never going to happen, but sleeping upright seems to help my acid reflux and keeps my arms from going numb, especially if I roll over :/

I suffered from acid reflux until I read about a simple cure. Diet modification. Reduce fat and chocolate intake and, in my case, it was gone overnight.
I got nothing for numb arms.

LOL but that would involve self control. Actually I get better if I stop drinking soda and other triggers but then if I lay down it still gets me. Doesn't matter what I eat. I think the valve is not closing right.hobie16 wrote:I suffered from acid reflux until I read about a simple cure. Diet modification. The doctor sent me for this test where they fed me a barium milkshake(OMG gross) and tilted me upside down and guess what the result was? They diagnosed me with acid reflux. Tell me something I don't know.

I think we all get leaky valves eventually. :( Until I figured out it was a diet issue I'd drink some milk. That always did the trick.DonutGoddess wrote:LOL but that would involve self control.
