I fail to see how a species growing to huge size can overcome food scarcity. I mean, come on, everyone knows that to bigger an organism is, the more food it requires. And how did they figure it had a rear-facing pouch from the skeletal remains? But as to the disappearance of the mega-wombat coinciding with the arrival of aborigines, heck, one of those things could feed a whole village!
