When I was there it was strictly tourists housing but I was amazed at how old it seemed to be. The three super long rows of rooms is the key to my memory cause I seem to remember thinking how odd that configuration was.
According to a review on Google Maps it used to be called "America's Value Inn". Lord knows how many names and owners the place has had over the years.

Here is Google Map's view of the hotel, it definitely is an odd layout and I can see how a fire could spread really quickly across the entire place.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…

If that's the Steak House attached in the front, then that is the place. It should have been torn down anyway, but kinda sad to have that kind of ending.

Cheaper than getting demolition and hazardous materials permits.

Back then asbestos was used in all types of construction. We added on to the house we owned on the Mainland and discovered the water heater closet had solid sheets of it instead of wall board. I put on a respirator, stripped it off the walls, double bagged it, and put in the bottom of the dumpster.

So YOUR the one! I think the best thing for you to do is turn yourself in. I'm sure they will go easy on you.

I think I know where the Black Angus Steak house is, but I'm thinking of the place that used to be the Hawaiian Theme Econo Lodge from a few years back. Is that the place? If it is...I have stayed there. It was about 8 years ago and it was pretty old then.
It is the same place with the Black Angus.

Funny thing is, I have actually lived a quarter mile from it to the east at one point, and a quarter mile to the southwest at another.

Back when we had that small freak tornado come through, it passed within 500' of that hotel.

Funny thing was, I had never seen a tornado before, I had never been where there had been one recently. But just by the swath of debris, I could instantly tell that there had been one as I drove across that spot on Old Lake Wilson. Was kinda freaky. Half an hour later, the news confirmed it.
