At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Re: Little Mermaid Ride
Im pretty excited for this ride to come to MK. I was thinking about trying to be part of the opening team however I really dont want to deal with the hours. It doesnt sound to fun working till 4am on some nights.
Re: Little Mermaid Ride
Will it be a carbon copy for WDW? I think ours is cute. A little cramped, but it's a good solid family attraction. It's too bad more people don't share my point of view. Many people tell me it's not good and isn't as good as Midway Mania. (Which I'm trying to figure where they got the idea Mermaid would be ANYTHING like Midway...)
RIP Bud Hurlbut.
You will be missed.

Re: Little Mermaid Ride
On Mermaid you will shoot swordfish at passing ships, in order to sink Prince Erics vessel. By sinking the ship, Eric needs to be rescued by a young mermaid, and thus our story is allowed to take place.... Hmmm, maybe not !

Pray you get a better custume than we've got here.
We have the "Shirley Temple Pastel Navy" thing going on.
If you ever stop and ask yourself: "How do they dress themselves?"
Congratulations and welcome to my world.

Re: Little Mermaid Ride
Got to ride this on Tuesday of last week. Very well done, but what is with her hair?
When we went to the blue sky exhibit they said they were working on version 2 of her hair, so they know...
I mean look at it in the Under the Sea sequence. It looks like soft serve ice cream!
(Also very refreshing: We didn't see anyone taking flash pictures when we rode it. Unlike the video.)
