If you want to be really impressed open up the smilies list. I've never seen a forum with such a large collection of smilies. Our Smiliemeister has worked hard to give us a veritable smorgasbord of smilies.

Oh, I've seen the current selection before, and it is quite substantial. However, I don't believe those two were part of it at the time, and was amazed by how quickly he came up with those.

Actually, yes. Was going to wait until I got the dates nailed down, but may as well taunt you now.

Departing WDW mid-August, we visit Chicago (convention), Yellowstone (lookitdabears), Vancouver BC (Wonder cruise to Alaska), LA (family) and home via San Antonio and New Orleans.

Not sure when I'll be near DLR, but I'm guessing between 10 and 13 September, for perhaps a day and a half. More details and formal plotting may begin when I get things nailed down.

So, we gonna party?

I want to hear all about the Alaskan cruise when we come down there in December. We're hoping to do Alaska via the Wonder in August 2012. So take lotsa notes. :D:

BTRR is down for a 2 week refurbishment. Today I observed the SG who could not read the sign. BTRR is closed for the day. the SG removed the sign, took down the ropes and continued to walk down the que until they were met by the paint crew. The paint crew walked the SG back up and secured the area. Folks! If all 4 trains are secured to the wooden railing attached with yellow tape, DUH! That ride is going no where!!! :mad: :twisted:

There are times in life when I just have to sit back and laugh at the stupidity. There are times in life when I feel like crying at the evil stupidity people inflict upon others.

But this would be one of those times where I just.... I can't even begin to imagine what the tiny, misshapen, misfiring neurons in someone's brain are up to. "I cannot see trains running. There is a sign saying this ride is closed. This is a lie. I have to move ropes - a piece of technology cleverly designed to keep people out - to get in at all. Any riders on those trains I didn't see also had to move the ropes, and then somebody else had to come and put them back for no reason at all. So when I get through, the ride will be operating and I will get on it."

I have taught some VERY dense children in my day, and I can't imagine one of them going through this thought process. I would never, ever wish that a guest abuse a CM in any way, but if this story had ended with the guest yelling at the painters, then I could at least understand that the rope-moving was motivated by an entitled sense that the world should bend to one's will. But...but....HUH????

:hysteria: :hysteria: :hysteria: Oh wow, I need air! I haven't laughed this hard in a long time! This is one of those moments were I honestly wonder if they were giving a brain at all. Lately guest are really, really stupid. I had someone argued with me that the Toontown train station had to be open... Finally I directed him to Toontown and let him figured out how he was going to get on the train. There was no way that man was listening to the word CLOSE. Such a thing it's preposterous!

So many people are self-centered. There is this sense of entitlement for unreasonable things. "I am going to do it because I want to and who cares what you say." Even when it's in their best interest. Every time i see a bridge under repair I wonder how many of them drive around the barricades to see if they can still cross.

That just makes me want to cry. Where did that driver learn to drive a bus? Because he didn't learn where I learned. And one of two things happened there:

1) He was approaching that bridge waaaaaaay too fast for safety in the first place, or

2) Once he realized he had a problem he kept going.

If you've had more than about 2 hours driving a coach like that, you can spot places you won't get through from quite a distance away, and often won't even take the chance. So I have to go with the next option:

3) The driver (and I use the term loosely) was a complete moron).

He is REALLY lucky no one was killed.

Looking at the article, this happened in an arboretum. Which means he should not have been going fast enough to successfully get the whole length of the bus under that bridge like that.
