Please tell me it's true...
I heard a rumor about people picking up some hard-to-score ADRs due to Disney's new no double booking policy.
1. Related to a recent discussion, pretty pretty please with sugar and a cherry on top is this true???!!!
2. Anyone have any related SG stories yet? If not, who's taking bets on how long it will take?
PS: If this is true, whichever Disney Dude cottoned on to SG over-booking tendencies and decided to stop it definitely just earned some major karma points.

I've refused to double-book guests, and they said to my face that they would just call in and use a false name. I expect that practice to expand greatly among the self-entitled.2. Anyone have any related SG stories yet? If not, who's taking bets on how long it will take?
That will continue until Disney gets serious enough to require ID checks at the podium, as was done with CRT a few years back. That or cancellation charges.
This is one of the (damn few) advantages that a la carte has over the old DRS software, such blocking is possible. But it only works if the guest uses identical information on both bookings. But if they are doing it online, they have to be logged in through disney.com on the global login. And I think disney.com makes it difficult to have multiple user IDs.

From my perspective, Disney makes it hard to get a single account on disney.com. Our last trip we tried to group our online ADRs using a login, but after the first time I couldn't get logged in again. Even used the lost password process and got a new pw via email, but when we tried to use it, we were told that there was a problem with the account. I'm excited to hear they are taking steps to keep people from making multiple reservations for the same time. I know people like to be more spontaneous, but it isn't really that much of a burden to pick a place and stay with it.

I made a reservation through the mobile website and I never logged in. I can make up any name, I personally have at least 4 email address and two phones on me at all times. In my family or 4 we would have 5 numbers to pick from.
This will only help for people how book ADRs as part of their package or people who are either honest or haven't figured out how to get around the system.
ETA: I also went through the regular website and it let me skip logging into the system, again they just ask for name, phone number and email.

From my perspective Disney does everything possible to insure that no one uses online via Disney.com. I am aware that I am not the brightest bulb on the tree when it comes to computer online things, but I have never found a site that is less user friendly than Disney. I can't figure anything out except the very basic things. If I try to change information in my profile, I can't even figure out how to get to it. I feel like I'm being forced to view stuff that I have absolutely no interest in and give up before I ever am able to figure out the rest of it. I know of one site that is less user friendly than Disney.com, that is the internal site for cast members. It contains lots of useful information, if you can find it. It is hard to find anything on there, even things that should be very easy to find, and the search function is next to useless. It also only works correctly in Internet Exploder and is about the only reason I ever open IE anymore (Firefox rules). Genius has struck! If Disney instituted an online-booking ONLY policy for all vacations, it could drastically reduce the number of SG's on property. Since so many people have trouble figuring out how to get the site to work, it would be like an IQ test! Only guests smart enough to get past the website would get past the turnstiles.
There are only a few problems. First and foremost, they'd have to make the site SLIGHTLY simpler/more reliable. No guests here, for instance, should have problems with it. We have good table manners, common sense, and all our shots.
It wouldn't be foolproof. It would prevent stupidity-caused SGT's and nothing else. Arrogance-caused SGT's would unfortunately remain unaffected. I'm picturing something like the "a humble man kneels" test in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade test for them, but it would probably just cause too many lawsuits.

Oh yes, the notorious HUB. Why do I say that???? DAMN these people are F***ing stupid that are visiting us lately.
Oh and for the record, the entitlement crap has hit new levels of "you gotta be KIDDING me!"
Let us just say that *I* have beaten my "NO" record in the first few hours of work recently. Yes, that is right....Disney pays, and rewards, me for saying "NO". :twisted:
Too bad it was not just the guests hearing the "NO"....damned newbies!
