In the short feature "Duck, Rabbit, Duck!", from which the image in my post comes from, Daffy and Bugs do their famous "Rabbit season, duck season" bit. After been shot one too many times, Daffy becomes a bit unhinged, and starts claiming to be all sorts of animals and demanding that Elmer shot him because it was "Such-and-such season". Eventually, Bugs appears dress as he is in the picture, and Elmer lists off all the animals he has been told he can shoot. He then rather timidly asks what season it actually is. The "Game Warden" replies, "Why, it's baseball season." Bugs then tosses the baseball, and Elmer happily chase it, blasting away at the ball.
