Sure, great idea BW. That'll buy Zazu a hell of a lot of nothing. ;) LOL

Would this be Mike M or Steve K/Steve A (don't remember which one went to 'rails and which one ended up in busses) by any chance?

That's the one. Really seems like a good guy. He seems very interested in doing what is best for the drivers and the guests. If I have something I need and am working at Epcot, I search for him, because I know it'll be taken care of well. I am certainly interested in your take.

Tonight was the last night of my schtick. I did not tell my guests, because I didn't want to say something that I couldn't explain without badmouthing anyone. So I just did my routine, and enjoyed it and my guests. Tomorrow, I move on and away from the idea that riding a bus can be a special moment in someone's life. But that's not what I am posting to talk about. Now, it is neither here nor there, and it does no good to try to change it.

I gave it my all, and my guests responded well every time. On my final run, I was running from Epcot to the All Star Resorts. Full bus with lots of people standing, and they got into the schtick from the first moment. Other than laughter and response to me, the bus was silent but for my talking. When I arrived at the Sports, I received a thunderous round of applause, and the "best bus ride ever" comments and such. After all were off, I went to the Music, where I received another bout of applause which was still overwhelming, even with half the bus emptied out. I pulled away again, did my thing, and when I pulled into the Movies I got yet another round of applause. As everyone was leaving, I had a family come up. The husband was in a hurry, but he wanted me to know that I was incredibly funny, it was one of the most enjoyable things he had seen at Disney, and, oh, he had been a Cast Member at Disneyland about five years ago. Then he ran, doing the "Gotta go RIGHT NOW" dance. His wife stayed behind with his daughters because they wanted to trade pins with me. Since they were the only ones on the bus, I asked the question, "So, what did your husband do at Disneyland?"

"Oh, he was a Jungle Cruise Skipper for a few years."

What a great final show. I was able to give new, fresh, "incredibly funny" entertainment to a seasoned JC skipper.

God, I'm going to miss that. But I know that I will find it somewhere other than buses.

So now, the time where I could be an entertainer as a bus driver, as brief as it was, has come to an end.

I tried my hand at modifying your Wallaby gif and I think I may have succeeded. I have one with kahki pants and an ausie style hat (one brim folded up) and a mic hanging down. One with white pants with a red stripe (monorail). One with conductor's blue pants with a yellow stripe (I THINK that tis the right color combination). And one with deep maroon pants with a yellow stripe and a pillbox hat for HTH.

One problem, I'm not sure how to get them to where you can look them over. All my old on-line photo albums have gone belly up and so I no longer can post them for your approval. So if you have any suggestions I'm willing to send them on.

I will be leaving work (where my computer access is from) in a few hours and so I may not be able to respond to any suggestions until wed night when my work week begins again. :)

Randy (I told you all I hope to be helpful. :D: )

Big Wallaby- Just from reading your posts here and all the responses, I can tell that you really are an EXTREMELY important asset to our cast here. There are seemingly decreasing numbers of CMs willing to speil AT ALL (even simple 'please move all the way down to the end of the row' they won't do). I do enjoy speiling myself and have really gotten much more comfortable with it-- I don't think I'm quite the showman you are with a speil, but with the limited amount of speiling I am able to do I give it my all. I am so glad that there are CMs like you in WDW. Speiling is a unique skill that you won't find utilized in many other places, and it does sadden me that WDW is trying to minimize the amount of speiling the cast does. I can't tell you how many times I have been in Philharmagic and wittnessed fellow CMs not using the PA to encourage guests to move all the way down. The pre-recorded Goofy speils are pretty ineffective in these cases. I always speil over the PA (both into the theatre and lobby so those still filing in can hear as well) and have only had to hold a show once or twice for guests not having a seat due to people not moving down. People are much more inclined to listen to a live speil then a canned recording.

With that being said, Big Wallaby I really wish I could have had the pleasure of riding one of your busses and listening to your amazing speils. I will definitely stop by at whatever your new location turns out to be!

(BTW, a trip to Disneyland taught me many great themed greetings for my attractions and speils. Seems like speils play a much bigger role out there then they are here.)

Just email them to me. I'll adjust their size if needed and put them up.

But understand that I'm unable to upload anything for the next week.
