Noooooooooo. :( I mostly remember her from the latest Dr. Who remake and from the Sarah Jane Chronicles. I really enjoyed watching her play that role.
I named one of my dogs (a Bahamian Potcake)after the character. My African Grey calls out Sarah Jane quite often since Sarah tends to get into a bit of trouble on a daily basis.

Bloody hell. Sarah Jane was always among my (and almost everyone else's) favorite companions. And with the new spin off going on, it was wonderful to see Liz back in the role. And even worse so soon after Nicholas Courtney's death to boot. First the Brigadier, next Sarah Jane... I'm dreading the loss of Tom Baker even more now. :(
For Randy, For Bonny, For Chris...

I don't really get choked up about celebrity deaths but this one I shed a tear for. She has been absolutely amazing in the Sarah Jane Adventures and I for one will miss her.

fragments bound below my surface,
but I can write dreams,
they flow from me,
inscribed but now unbound,
I touch them,
and they are real,
and they are real."

I, too, have fond memories of watching old episodes of Doctor Who featuring Sarah Jane Smith, and was thrilled when she showed up in the new ones. I didn't get to see much of The Sarah Jane Adventures, but what I did, I liked. I was sorry to hear she has passed on.
