Knotts Bringing Back Beary Tales?

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.
Forum rules
At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Look what was dug out of the warehouse. Interesting, at least they cleaned the costumes and props, now drag it back and clean the valves and relays please.
also, please convert the soundtrack to digital, that old tape sounds awful...

As far as I know, Knott's is not bringing back Beary Tales. :( Those bears were in a warehouse were they were restored and placed in a shop that we re-merchandised. The barn used to sell crafts and deco, but it is now a toy shop. The bears sing and dance whenever someone gets near the display.
The audio is about as good as its going to get.

Wow, they threw some old Log Ride or Mine Ride gear on the bears, and called it a day huh?

I'm not 100% sure, but I've heard the KoD building has suffered some neglect and has decayed a bit over the years. Also, I know that when they installed laser tag, they cut the ramp to the upper levels off.

*EDIT* I'm also a little bit bummed that the "Crafts Barn" has been re-merched into a Toy Barn. Bleh.

RIP Bud Hurlbut.

You will be missed.

Hey the fact that they even restored something historic is a feat in itself!
I miss so much of the old Knott's. Beary Tales, KOD, the lake, Soap Box Derby, I could go on and on.

... where the only turf wars were with employees between rival departments not gangs. Ya know, the good old days.

The Knott family should never have sold the park to Cedar Fair. Those idiots tore out the last remaining boysenberry bushes! I miss the Haunted Shack the most.

People who didn't build it, generally don't keep/appreciate it.

When I worked at Knott's I always had guests coming up asking for the Haunted Shack, and other long-gone attractions. One asked about the dolphin show--I wasn't aware there had been one. One family asked where they could pick fruit--it took me awhile to realize they meant the original berry patch. I hated telling them it was gone. People were coming to Knott's to show their kids/grandkids what they'd enjoyed doing there when they were young, only to be disappointed with how many of their favorite attractions were gone, especially since Cedar Fair took over.

Really Miss Knott's Berry Farm of long ago-my Grandparents took us often! I remember the island with the Tree Branch creatures,Burro Rides,The Ghost Town,The Mine Train, the Volcano, the Mission Dioramas,Beary Tales and the Kingdom of the Dinosaurs,as well as the Dolphin Show-
We were very lucky to enjoy those simpler times, everything seemed so amazing! Kids now are awfully hard to impress :(
