Re: New guest-infiltrator with a ? about ADRs
Beverly is gross. But then again, it would be nice to see Disney sell different drinks.

Its an acquired taste! I have some every time I'm there, and I am starting to like it ! I need to look in some Italian grocery stores here in town and see if they carry Beverly !turkeyham wrote:Beverly is gross. But then again, it would be nice to see Disney sell different drinks.![]()

Hey. I like Beverly. Makes it really fun to go into Club Cool, grab that first, see everyone who has already had it watching me, waiting for my reaction... then the confusion and/or disappointment that follows.turkeyham wrote:Beverly is gross. My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Beverly wasn't my favorite by a long shot, but there were others I disliked more -- like that Brazilian guarana drink they had for a while. :thumbdn:Big Wallaby wrote:Hey. I like Beverly. I still cherish the memory of about 15 minutes after my first visit to the club (then Ice Station Cool), in line for HISTA, when I excused myself to get a drink of water, saying "I still have the taste of Beverly in my mouth." It's not often you get to say something like that to your in-laws.

That Brazilian stuff was good. I'd bring a few six packs home every time I went to Brazil on business.BRWombat wrote:Beverly wasn't my favorite by a long shot, but there were others I disliked more -- like that Brazilian guarana drink they had for a while. :thumbdn:

I remembera SG on board X talking about the same thing, before online reservations. She had to make multiple reservations for each meal because she just had no idea what she'd feel like eating that day. When people pointed out that this would make reservations unavailable for others, she said it didn't matter, because no one really needs reservations - you can always find a place to eat. I asked her why she didn't just do that, then, instead of making reservations. She didn't respond. Wonder why?SnDMommy wrote:Now, on to business....I have a question that's really more of a technical nature. Some crazy on board x is spouting off about making three reservations for each meal, for each day, because she "has to be flexible in her plans" and never knows where they're going to feel like eating. This also includes having a lunch AND dinner rez booked at Ohana for every day of their trip, just in case.

while i didn't catch that exact thread i did read recently that a travel agent in the states(sorry, im a canuck) was advising her clients to triple book for meal times. after scrambling for a last minute may trip(thank you dvc!) the 2 my kiddos big time want are gone. not shocked. when i mentioned the above to my own travel agent she nodded her head and said yes people were in fact double and triple booking dinings. can't really say i'm shocked, especially with some of the mind sets that are out there these days.

And now for more :soap: ing!
I frequently listen to ....let's call it...podcast X (although it's not actually related to board X). GENERALLY, they're non-SG-ish, and tend to recommend legitimate tricks and tips only. They might complain about Disney hosing guests on souvenir mugs, but they wouldn't suggest that guests hose Disney back by re-using/re-selling mugs. (Now I have a mental image of a garden hose war between hordes of guests and hordes of CM's, hehe!)
BUT THEY RECOMMEND DOUBLE BOOKING ADR'S!!!!!!!!!!!
They try to weasel out of how RUDE, ENTITLED, AND SELFISH this is by telling you to call in and cancel the ADR as soon as you've made a decision (which they expect to be at BEST, the day of). But this doesn't help the poor schmo who tried for that Le Cellier lunch ADR 165 days out instead of 180.
If you don't want to be tied down to plans you made 180 days prior to your trip, DON'T MAKE PLANS AT THE COST OF SOMEBODY ELSE'S!

For some reason, this particular issue seriously gets to me.
