How to thank Cast Members
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum. I was recently in WDW and wanted to be sure that some really great cast members got official kudos (and perhaps some kind of reward) for spreading the Disney magic to their guests. I suppose something in writing is the best way to have a record right? Does anyone know where I should send the email? Anywhere more specific than the general WDW email address?
Thanks! :)

The email address that I have used is . I have gotten fairly prompt responses from them and have been ensured that my praise of the cast members mentioned will be passed on to them and their managers, and reflected in their records.PolyPrincess wrote:Hi everyone,

You can also just go into City hall at the MK, or guest relations at the other parks to provide the positive comments.
In either case, provide the name and hometown (from the nametag) of the cast member, as well as the location and time, to ensure the attaboy goes to the right people.
Since WDW keeps track of positive (and negative) comments, its always a great idea to ensure that the praise for those who make your day gets recorded. I dont know how much difference it makes, but a CM who is trying for a promotion or transfer should have a better chance if he/she has a stack of praise in their record!

I've also sent a letter to the following address:
Guest Services
Walt Disney World Resort
PO Box 10,000
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830
and we received a call back, letting us know that they'd passed along the compliments to each cast member! I don't know if that will be any more or less effective than email these days, but it is another option.
Oh, and PolyPrincess,

Letters mailed from home have the largest impact, as they take the most effort and the longest memory.BRWombat wrote:I've also sent a letter to the following address:

Know that such letters frequently get posted on bulletin boards backstage so that other CMs can see who the stars are (and maybe copy them, one hopes).

The best methods for official recognition have already been mentioned ... If you wanted to "thank" someone financially, well, only bellmen, valets, bartenders and servers are allowed to accept tips. That being said, a sealed envelope with a "note" of thanks will pretty much always be gratefully accepted.
The views and opinions expressed in this post do not represent those of the Walt Disney Company. This post was written while off the clock and off WDW property. Caution: The moving rubber line is travelling at the same speed as you.

Be unique.
Have a chocolate gun made special for them, and since they are mostly really busy, you will prolly have to run up to them really fast and just hold it out to them, barrel first. hmm, either that or a nice gummy rattle snake would do.

Actually, I would suggest making a pistol out of gelatin, but then they might get arrested for carrying a congealed weapon....drcorey wrote:Be unique.
