New guest-infiltrator with a ? about ADRs

Post by SnDMommy » Thu Mar 03, 2011 9:00 am

First, I'd like to say how much I've really enjoyed lurking through the forum here the last couple of weeks. And what I nice refreshing change it is from the craziness over on board x. And allow me to cheese out for just a second and say THANK YOU to all of you who make my visits so wonderful!!

Now, on to business....I have a question that's really more of a technical nature. Some crazy on board x is spouting off about making three reservations for each meal, for each day, because she "has to be flexible in her plans" and never knows where they're going to feel like eating. This also includes having a lunch AND dinner rez booked at Ohana for every day of their trip, just in case.

From a programming standpoint, why would the system not restrict this kind of behavior? I even confess to mulling over the logistics of it and how it could work. Sometimes my geek brain doesn't turn off. ;)

I'm not a CM, but I wonder how they would let her get that many. If it's not restricted, it's very inconsiderate behavior. I doubt it affects the restaurant -- they'll be near capacity since no tables are actually held and walk-ins can fill the spaces for no-shows. But it would mean that others who tried to get legitimate ADRs would not be able to.

Good question, SnDMommy -- and:

I just recently made my ADRs. You can't make more than one on the online system. Unless, she has a few user names? I believe even if you call in you can't make more than one per day.

Oh, and I only tried to make more than one because we wanted to have lunch ressies one day as well as dinner ressies.

Exactly. The best part was how justified she felt in doing this, saying it affected no one else so why should anyone care (those who were pointing out how rude this was). She just doesn't get it.

That's REALLY impressive. I would encourage her to show up for every one of those rare, elusive Ohana lunch reservations. I guarantee, she'll have the restaurant to herself, because Ohana doesn't do lunch.

Oh crap, my bad - it was Le Cellier, not Ohana she made the every day lunch and dinner for.

Not a troll. I confess to being a nosy you-know-what and reading through some of her other posts. She is a serious nutso with an inflated sense of entitlement. I would post a link to some of the doosies, but that would be in poor taste. Lets just say that back in 2009, she wrote a letter CC'd to several people including Iger, complaining about her recent stay at GF. Included on the list was things like there is no mini-bar in the rooms anymore; the resort monorail line from MK at park closing (and remember this is June), was crowded and they had to wait (oh the horror!!!!); and the restrooms in the public areas at GF had paper towels instead of cloth towels.

She also admitted in another post that she would be passing her 4.5 year old off as under 3 "because she's small for her age".
