Re: Virtual Monorail, or How I'm Spending My Summer Vacation...
Well sorry to dig up an old thread but just wanted to say that I'm working on some related items. I really miss the real trains but there's even more things that I don't miss about the job. So I think I will start working on my virtual trains again.
1) Monorail Teal - it's already been created by somebody else, but I want to re-skin it to a slightly different shade.
2) Monorail Maroon - again it was already created by somebody else but I am also going to re-skin it to reflect a few items that the 12th train will feature at WDW.
3) Monorail Peral - a fictional train that will run in my virtual world because I need 14 trains!
4) Monorails Lime & Coral - they don't have the deltas which I want to incorporate into them.
5) Strobes & beacons - not sure if it's possible to make these features act more like real strobes vs. the fading in & out. Actually there's a new rear strobe on Monorail Red that I noticed when I was there in December and it's real similar to the rear strobes on the virtual trains.
That's all for now, I will be working on this in my spare time...I have no idea if/when I will finish it all but would be happy to share when I do!

Re: Virtual Monorail, or How I'm Spending My Summer Vacation...
Big news...
I'm finally coming to terms with the fact that I may never get to the remaining buildings and really finish out my WDW project the way I'd like. So...
...I'm going to go ahead and make available what I've done. If anyone has the software and wants to add to the project, or just load it and play with the trains, feel free.
Some release notes:
1. This was created with and for Auran Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006. No guarantees it will work with any other version. Actually, no guarantee it will work even with 2006.
2. Okay, no guarantees at all.
3. This also requires the installation of The Monorail Project into TRS2006.
4. Some of the content is (C) Auran, some The Monorail Project, some me, and perhaps Disney might claim copyrights on building designs; who knows? I'm pretty sure it can be transferred for non-commercial purposes, but again, no guarantees or warranties of any kind.
5. This is a trial release. I may not keep it publicly available forever.
The file is a Trainz archive .cmpa file of 67.6 MB. You'll need to download it, save it to your Trainz archive folder (mine is under My Documents/Miscellaneous/Trainz Archives), then load the archive through the Content Manager, and Commit all of the items.
Here is the file. Have fun!

No, of course not. Disclaimers are never meant to affect what someone does with a product. They're there for the lawyers to point to after something goes horribly wrong.darph nader wrote:You honestly expect me to remember all that Wombat???(you funny guy)

Well I just about got everything working...for some reason I couldn't get Silver to move past 103 on Resorts and for some strange reason all the right side doors on Blue I noticed were still open as I crossed switchbeam 9!!! :D:

Hmmm, okay...well I do not have the software and really do not want to spend money to acquire it.
I would like to see the VM monorail or at least the layout ya'll are talking about.
Ideas?

Awesome! I really wasn't sure whether anyone else would be able to see it. Kind of like those baseball players in Field of Dreams...Monorail_Red wrote:Well I just about got everything working...for some reason I couldn't get Silver to move past 103 on Resorts and for some strange reason all the right side doors on Blue I noticed were still open as I crossed switchbeam 9!!! :D:
Here is a rare photograph of the elusive VM Monorail:mapo wrote:...

All kidding aside, apart from the YouTube video link and pictures posted earlier in this thread, the only way to see it is to have the Trainz software. Sorry!

That is beautiful. Now, if you could put it on the front of the train, I would be even more impressed. :D:BRWombat wrote:
Which begs the question, why was someone taking a picture of the very back of that train...

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Hey, I've always been a lot more successful taking pretty pictures of the end of the monorail. It's so much easier to time and frame than the front.Big Wallaby wrote:...

As for this one, just assume the front is decorated in like manner. (I considered just flipping this image and reposting it, but then the words would be backwards, and I've already spent enough time on this one joke.)
