A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.
Forum rules
At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

I don't have a globe handy but I can believe a number of border states are further north than parts of Canada, but Northern California? With Oregon and Washington north of California I am having a hard time imagining that.
Got a map?

using google earth on my phone.... the California Oregon border is around 42 degrees 2' 49" north. Leamington Ontario is 42 degrees 0'40" north. That does put it south of the northern border of California. Of course these are subject to the accuracy of reading google earth on an iphone....

The red line is the 42nd Parallel, starting in North America at the California/Oregon border and heading eastward, accounting for the natural curvature of the Earth.
It nicks Chicago before hitting Detroit/Windsor, and then passes through extreme southern portions of Ontario before heading eastward towards Boston and Cape Cod, Mass.

Well, what do you know. You can teach an old dog new tricks. Sorry for doubting you, just couldn't imagine it, but there it is. My sincerest apologies.

And Mexico is north of Florida. :D:
Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

If that little flange headed toward Michigan is drawn right, I'm pretty sure I'm also north of some part of Canada.
Then again I'm pretty cold-hardy. I went to University in the same region I live in, and the most fun thing to do each year, was watch the Freshman. You could tell from how far south they were by the quantity of LLBean they were wearing.
By October, The Floridians were wearing the whole catalog.
And the best part is when the sidewalks iced over and the locals, and other northern kids (Alaska, Michigan, Wisconsin... ya know) just walked right on down them, being adept at the "ice waddle"... and the southern kids, thought that meant they were safe, and just set out to walking like normal.
BLAMMO.
Watching the Floridian Freshman slip on ice is a cruel cruel, pastime... like watching America's Funniest home Videos.
Of course by the time they're Sophomores they don't fall anymore... and folks from New Jersey can't walk on the ice so well either at first but at least know to check for it so to they don't wind up on their asses...

However, Detroit is the only place in the Lower 48 where you can drive due south to get into Canada.

And to think I lived most of my life at a point due west of Canada, and I never knew!
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?
