I class that as one of many reasons both physical and psychological, one might not be able to handle the drops.

It could be like the Green side of Mission Space.

Don't think it will happen tho...

They could do like they do at Mission Space, a red card, and a green card, and every half hour or so, run an elevator in no drop mode.
YES! My husband is the same way. He keeps hoping they will run one elevator slow so he can ride it too. He has done the dropping one once and it messed up his stomach for the rest of the day. He is fine for just about every other high thrill attraction in WDW (EE gets him sometimes too), but can't do TOT.

You WILL set in the doom buggy, you WILL put your hands on the bar, you WILL look stright ahead at all the wonderful things, you WILL hold your comments and fun till then end and are off the ride. You will NOT react to all the spooooky goings on at HM!!

Speaking of HM, I love the green hand projected on the car at unload. Did people *really* not know which side to get out on?! I made a comment about it, and the CM did something quite inappropriate for HM. She smiled. ;)

KingsIslander wrote:Okay, so we were at Spaceship Earth. First time on since it was changed in 2007 (I miss the old descent...), so I kind of wanted to hear the narration. This couple behind us in line talked loudly the entire time in line, but I assumed this would stop once they were on the ride. It did not. The entire time going up the first tunnel: talk, talk, talk- loudly enough that I couldn't hear the narration at all. It was quite dark, and I had enough. I just went, "SHHHH!". The talking stopped... briefly. Literally, they talked the rest of the ride.

Finally, in the unload area, they ended up in front of us. "Hey, Mom, don't you think it's SO RUDE when people TALK DURING THE ENTIRE RIDE when some people might want to actually LISTEN to what the ride is saying?" If looks could kill, I'd be dead right now... but it was worth it.

(Bonus stupidity: in the big queue room at The Great Movie Ride, someone turned to my dad and asked him "Is this the ride?". I wanted to die laughing.)
Non Disney but still relevant. SWMBO and I were at a showing of The Return of the King. A middle-aged couple two rows behind us was talking loudly from the start of the film. Finally, I'd had enough, got up, walked back, sat next to them and said in a very loud voice:

"Excused me, but could you speak a little bit louder? The folks in the very front can't quite make out what you're saying!"

They shut up and I got applause from the other patrons.

Yes, I can live up to my Avatar.

I can imagine the guest complaints when that special CM forgets to flip the switch. :whistlng:

I have wondered with a ride so popular if they should build another bank of elevators, with a separate entrance and cashier... just for people that don't want to spend all day at Studios, but want to ride the tower. They could add their green card version then.

Then again, I've wondered why WDW hasn't had a 40% off after "4pm" or "6pm" pass.

I agree though, I don't have a fear of the rides, but I truly dislike the feeling of falling, or going too fast unexpectedly, so I avoid them. I feel like I'm missing something. I also have heard the stories of migraines, dizzyness, stomach, etc... and don't want to chance it. I usually haven't had problems after a roller coaster or parachute drop, but don't want to chance it since I'm susceptible. In my old age, I've learned to avoid things that might make for a bad day.

I believe that there's a Florida resident Epcot After 4pm Annual Pass. It seems like it's mostly meant for people who are going to dine in the restaurants, since Epcot has perhaps the biggest variety of restaurants on property.

For Tower, I know my mom probably wouldn't want to ride it, as she's not really a ride type of person. (We can get her on It's a Small World, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, and other "dark rides".) However, the theming is so amazing at the Tower from the moment that you step into the queue until you get in the elevator. It's probably logistically impossible, but it might be cool to have a "walk-through" with a library and a utility area similar to what one sees in the queue for the actual ride.

There is an Epcot "After 4" pass available and like goofyjoe said it is aimed at people wanting to dine (at least I'm pretty sure it is). IIRC the water parks have something similar as well.

The reason the other parks don't have one is because they don't need it. The parks stay busy all day normally and the whole idea behind passes like that is to get more people to come in the afternoon, which is a slower time at some amusement parks I believe.
