No More Room Assigners at Resorts
Re: No More Room Assigners at Resorts
I'm just going go ahead and agree with pbb for the most part.
Disney bills itself as a luxury resort heavily in the hospitality industry.
The problem here? I think it is the size of WDW. Too many CMs (human beings with too many things going on at once) and too many guests with requests (often unreasonable as we all know.) Things fall through the cracks when they shouldn't. His room request should have been met if it was possible, which it was, unless there was a reason why that room, or block of rooms, were blocked for whatever reason, and which may have required a manager override.
The only part I don't agree with is that the chef actually responded with something meaning "sure, what did you have in mind?" This, I feel, was an appropriate and reasonable question.

I agree with you to the extent that I don't have a clue what they can do. That and I don't want to design cakes. LOL. I believe he should have responded with 3 or 4 suggestions with a digital picture or such. I probably would have been fine with that and made a decision. That is usually why restaurants have menu's to describe what they can do and for how much. I am sure the baker has made thousands of cakes but I am ignorant of such things. I guess I should have watched that Cake show on Food Network.David R wrote:The only part I don't agree with is that the chef actually responded with something meaning "sure, what did you have in mind?" Not to sound like a SG, but is it common for the gift stores to gift wrap purchases? It wouldn't even dawn on me to be disappointed because a CM in a sale position didn't do a good job gift wrapping an item.

You had a complaint about your 25th anniversary, then complain about something 20 years ago? let it go!pbb wrote:I am not sure what you mean by stating I am assuming a lot. REDACTED FOR BREVITY
In 1990, we stayed at The Beach Club for $ 89 per night. My wife and two son's ages 3 months and 4. The desk agent told me I had a king size bed. I reminded him that I had a 4 person reservation. We sat there for 20 minutes for the agent to figure out the solution. The solution was for us to be on the concierges level with a parking lot view. Disney messed up but they did the right thing by upgrading us. Did I get the lake view that I requested, no, but I believed they made a mistake and put their best efforts forward to provide me a decent room.
and all that gobbledegook by minimizing my attitude because I relax when I am on vacation?
you seem to be getting an entitlement attitude that is very close to that of an SG.
like other posters have said, perhaps you need to take your business elsewhere, or take a chill pill.
stuff happens, and sometimes thats the breaks.

This is what happens when you live in a bottle of rum I guess............Gee, take my business elsewhere......I never thought of that. Maybe that could be next years theme........
2011-The Year of Take Your Business Elsewhere
I was actually complimenting Disney on their style of business 20 years ago. That style kept me coming back........Things have changed considerably. We were going to go on DCL in May to Europe.....Not Now based on our last few WDW trips. Plus I would prefer not be near any pirates.....arrghh....... :)
