This is quoted from board "X"
"You can ask the CM before boarding if the cowboy scene is running, and request to board it.
I have done this in the past - and the CM's have been quite accommodating.
I believe they only run the Cowboy scene on busier days, as it is the next movie set in front of the Cowboy scene - which you pass through. This way they run both scenes subcutaneously (with the car behind you)
After that the two rides are identical."
Does this have anything to do with the alleged embedded Fastpass chips?

I am not sure where you would put chips in our FastPasses. In fact, the machines have a hard enough time spitting 'em out without anything special.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Not sure about a FastPass but perhaps your KTTW inserted in your forearm. Just think... Walk up to your resort room door and it unlocks without having to do anything. And the time it would save not having to argue about getting into your 2nd park of the day when you were too cheap to buy the hopper. Approach the turnstile, no more finger scan and discussion with a CM, just a nice 100 volt shock from your KTTW chip as a "gentle" reminder.
There could even be a SG option where responsible CM's can activate the shock function when a guest gets a little too stupid. Oh, think of the possibilities... And the fun.

Nope, the western scene isn't run just on busy days. It is run year-round (although, it isn't run as often/long during slower times).

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

After giggling about this post, I assumed that it was probably posting from an iPhone or the like that managed to auto correct simultaneously to subcutaneously. I can't imagine that someone who knows both words would also manage to switch them.
But nevertheless, I felt compelled to read the post aloud to everyone in the room with me at the time.

When I entered the theater room/queue last week, I asked the greeter if they were running both sets of vehicles... she said, "not today."
Did I phrase the question wrong?

Given what I've heard lately about the place, I wouldn't be surprised if the person didn't know what in the world of color you were talking about.
There were times (up until about late 2008) when there would be days we wouldn't run a bandit at all. They decided to change it to having at least one. Now, if that holds true now or not, you'll have to ask Joanna.
A good photograph means knowing where to stand

Last week we definitely were running western shows. Maybe it was the time of day you were there? Because they stop running after a certain time

Last month we had a short wait when we requested the cowboy. But we got an upfront seat from the deal!
Maybe sometime I'll be bold enough to request a "Joanna."
