Re: The time has come
Verizon! My husband and I have had Verizon for years, and we've never once had a problem with service. In fact, years ago, right after Hurricane Charlie went through, everyone we knew with other carriers had no service, but we still did.
Re: The time has come
AT&T was pretty good in December 2008, the first time I visited with an iPhone, but it seems to have gone downhill in the last four visits (most recently October 2010). I think it's lots of users + not as much investment in the network = slow service and bad signal.Big Wallaby wrote:Stay away from AT&T. I love my iPhone, but I can't stand the coverage. Actually, that's all over Central Florida.
I will say, however, that Deb Wills' allears.net does render quite nicely on the iPhone, even though there isn't a "mobile" version of the site :)
Gawrsh, yah-huh!
Re: The time has come
I saw an article on the best and worst cell phone service providers, and AT&T was at the bottom, for like the fourth year in a row. Didn't look at the full list, but a small company, unfortunately my memory has gone into senior mode, was ranked best. Saw it on MSNBC.com the other day; maybe the article is still there.

Since you have to navigate that horrible, horrible site called the flub... I can understand your pain. A fair amount of the discounts (like on computers) are crap, so you need to compare prices with retail and specials... but aside from a price club's take it or leave it offerings, I thought the prices were good with choices. The most expensive king they offer is $1,020 shipped plus tax, and if you buy two sets, the $130 shipping covers both.mapo wrote:We get discounts that look good on mattresses?? Hmmmm.....where did ya find that please?

Now to sleep around on the resort beds and figure out which is best. Need to talk to mauskeeping.
The flub, WDW tab, Disney difference, discounts and classifieds, team discounts, sealy posturepedic, there's a link and a code.
This is the special they're running:
MONOGRAM 800 PILLOWTOP
NEW Employee Discount Price 20% off
Twin $335
Full $362
Queen $402
King $552
This great deal is effective for orders received by December 31, 2010. Must ship complete by January 31, 2011. Sets only.
Also, you can buy like 12 sets per year for personal use, in case you want to start your own resort for your personal use.

Re: The time has come
Interesting side note I found out not long ago...
When it comes to network, there is little competition between Verizon and Sprint. That's because when you are talking on one of their phones, you could be using a tower from either company... and you're not going to know which. They have a mutually beneficial agreement, that since they use the same CDMA signal and both would like to have the best coverage at the lowest cost, they find they can hedge their expenses and give the best service by (grumble, I am sure) working together.
I still love the ad campaign where Verizon compared their coverage to that of AT&T, and AT&T came back and felt they had to DEFEND themselves.
Good times.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Wow. As usual, you have answered with good info. Thanks so much for helping one who really can't wait to get there and be amongst your ranks! :)
Re: The time has come
That's pretty good information since in the WDW area, Sprint / Nextel / Boost should work very well. Reason being some of the cast radios are Nextels and there have to be enough towers to ensure those radios work. I've also seen Verizon and ATT panels backstage for their towers, so any phone should work well at least on the property. My Verizon phone did lose signal backstage, "underground" at one particular spot, but the Nextels worked fine.Big Wallaby wrote:Interesting side note I found out not long ago...

IIRC our Sprint discount is slightly better for obvious reasons, but Verizon was only 3% less. I've always hated Sprint, but their offerings as of late are some of the best with the "unlimited" plans they offer.

Is anything Luke Wilson says actually valid? I mute the TV anytime I see his face.
Also, if you go with Sprint, make sure you have the discount through out the lifetime of your contract, I'm currently having problems with the discount.

Now, that's a problem that I haven't heard of before with cellular! Thanks for that bit of info.[/font]
