Our Experience has been that they were placing the behaviorally challenged kids with the learning disabilities kids in my son's school-it took the troublemakers about 2 seconds to figure out how to terrorize their victims
Sorry you had to go thru that Mayo, and I would've been on that floor with you playing with the Critters. I do think you are quite brilliant,by the way :)
How Boring it would be if we were all the same!

I'm guessing that IEP is individual education program?

With your background Mayo, it's no wonder you gravitated towards the theatre.

DisneyMom: For the record I was in my seat... I was pretty clear on the fact that leaving my chair without permission was frowned on. No, she was upset that I was watching the animals instead of keeping my eyes front. *Sighs.*

And yes, the lack of distinction between the non-disruptive kids on IEPs kids and the kids who were on them because they were "Disturbed" was an ongoing problem... well unless you were a dyslexic. The resource classrooms always tried to pigeonhole kids as either "behavior" or "reading" issues... I was neither... and they never really knew what to make of me. By senior year I was doing only one period of "resource" a week.

Dels: Plan, but yes. I really wish I could have pursued theater as a career, my real passions are in the arts and my day job is just my day job. But I was lucky to go to a college with a really high quality student run theater, and to live in an area with over half a dozen thriving community theater organizations.

You probably had more self-restraint than I had- Any opportunity to touch and pet the critters I was there ;) I had a really cool Science instructor who
let us get away with LOTS, probably helped :)

My Son's Middle School had a dog that would lay about the office, and students were allowed to come in on breaks to give him or her some love.I thought it was a great idea, very relaxing/therapeutic for everyone :dug:
