Cool Demolition

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Re: Cool Demolition
National Geographic did a special program about this. The guy who set up the fireworks was interviewed. The equipment that controlled the pryotechnic countdown and plunger effects was super expensive, and they didn't want it destroyed in the demolition. So they connected it to a zipline from the roof to a safe spot clear of the blast zone, and right before the main charges blew, the control equipment slid safely out of the way down the zipline.

Dammit. I had reservations.

"Dreams are as portals,
flat visions of misty places,
fragments bound below my surface,
but I can write dreams,
they flow from me,
inscribed but now unbound,
I touch them,
and they are real,
and they are real."

Yeah, that's sort of how I feel right after Magic Kingdom fireworks. Especially knowing that it's some blue-card who's going to get called on the carpet for it.kcberlin wrote:Call me weird, but I find it hilarious that you could hear car alarms going off int the background.

Whimps,,,,,,,,damn near every day,two F-16s would take off from the base. (full after-burners) At least 3 alarms would go off. Later in the day a C-130 would swoop in for a landing and it would happen again.kcberlin wrote:Call me weird, but I find it hilarious that you could hear carr alarms going off int the background.
