you kind of hit on it, I have the electronic leashs on when I am not on vacation, and its actually good to turn the cell phone off, and leave the travel computer in the room.

I do admit to using the connection in the room once ever couple of days to download pictures, and check e-mail, (250 e-mails??? and none of them important!)

its nice to just relax on vacation and not worry about stuff.

Well yes and no... my computer is not in any way a "leash" from my POV. Perhaps if all you use it for is work, and your boss is on it harassing you, it may seem that way... but... my Internets are my endless book to read. I'd be horribly bored without them. I'm just saying that the lighter weight, tho smaller screen of the Web Enabled phone is sufficient for me on vacation.

I could never be fully web-less... that would be torment. *Shudders.*

I actually used an air card on our last trip....it was a working vacation, I had to do payroll while I was down there as well as handle mini-issues that cropped up. Anyway, someone walking by the room saw me on my computer (thank you big picture window) and actually asked if they could "piggy-back" my signal. Are you effing kidding me?!?!? Dude, do you know how much this is costing my company. But I bit my lip and politely explained that it was for company use only and I wouldn't even begin to figure out how to allow him access.

I will admit, though, I couldn't go web-less either; I need access to all my emails and I did use it to upload my pics so friends could look at them while we were still down there.
