Pumpkin Carvings!

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.
Forum rules
At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Pumpkin Carvings!

Post by IndyandMarion » Sat Oct 30, 2010 1:31 pm

Hey all,

Tomorrow is the big day. Halloween. Is any one carving pumpkins this year? Dressing up? How about carvings like these that I've done:

Jack Skellington

Oogie Boogie (G/F did this one)
Image

Iron Man
Image

Snow White (She did this as well)
Image

Finally, POTC Jolly Roger:

That isn't all. Because tonight, the masterpiece will be created in what I've dubbed Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Orange Pearl.

For this years costume, I've debuted my Harry Dresden outfit.

These are great!
I have 3 pumpkins sitting in my kitchen waiting to be carved but a head cold is keeping me from playing with sharp objects. Maybe tomorrow....
Time for more NyQuil and back to bed.

Curse of the Orange Pearl stole the party tonight! I'll post pictures in a few hours once I sleep. I've got yet another party tonight with more carving. Orange Pearl was my final curtain for the season but I'm doing a special encore for a friend at her little get together. So I'll be doing an untitled Jack, Sally and Zero triple set.

For now, off to the late night double feature picture show. And sleep.

Whew. OK. So the Curse of the Orange Pearl was tiring, amazing, and won stole the night. Took six and a half hours to complete. Note. This monster of a pumpkin holds THREE carvings on just ONE Pumpkin.

Proof that Saral Paper is amazing. The beginnings of Jack Sparrow. On the left of the pumpkin
Image

On the right of the pumpkin
Barbossa. A few bits didn't transfer (Hence the black lines), On the right of the pumpkin
Image

Finally, in the Center of the pumpkin, The Black Pearl
Image

Jack Sparrow completed. His goatee brades came off while I was cutting (That was the most difficult part of all three), but shockingly, Super Glue kept it on (And it's still on after many hours)
Image

The Black Pearl completed. At the top, I started cutting part of the mast off then realized: Why in the heck am I worried? It's the Pearl, it's been to, well, Jones's locker and back, the more torn up it looks, the better. So that's the reason why parts don't look clean, went with the rugged look.

Finally, my favorite character, Barbossa.
