"I don't want to have to think!"

Post by Disneyguy85 » Sun Oct 17, 2010 3:12 pm

Yesterday I was at the Disneyland Resort, I was walking in the transportation plaza towards the esplanade, and these three girls were walking by (one looked to be the parent/guardian) and one of the young girls had a bit of trouble finding the "hole" of one of the garbage cans. The parent helped her and said something like; "They make these to you have to think a little" and the girls reply was "When I'm at Disneyland I don't want to have to think!"

I just thought that was kind of funny, cause that mindset can get one in a lot of trouble at a Disney park.

My guess would be that a state of "not thinking" is normal for them.

Yeah, I would venture to figure thinking is not their forte.

Oh lord, sound like something my 14 year old daughter would say. As a parent of one of these types, I have to say, I am at a loss as how to educate her. School seems only to be a social event. No desire to learn anything.

Serously, do they ever grow out of this airheadedness?

Drop her off in the middle of BF Nowhere with just a knife and a cup. She'll learn 'real' fast. ;)

She is only 14.....but maybe Volunteer Work would give her some perspective....could be as simple as making/selling a craft and donating proceeds to a charity :)

There is an increasing attitude of anti-intellectualism in this country which seems to cause students to actively AVOID learning anything...

Makes me sad.

Disneymom, you might be on to something. I am thinking around the lines of a family trip to the homeless shelter to serve food. I am sure she will facebook all about how lame it is. *cringe*
