New Attraction: The Morgue

Post by mapo » Fri Oct 01, 2010 5:08 am

Yup, you heard it here first. You want to see a real Disney morgue in action?? :grim:

Are you sure??? Costs no money....a ghost town where you can still see remains of past attractions!

Are you really sure???

OKAY...

First, you have to be at WDW! Oh, so you are there...good, good.... :bouncemic

Second, you have to be at WDW on a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party night. No, no. You are not going to the party. Remember, no cost involved!

OKAY....so you are at WDW on a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party night, but are not going to the party at MK. :(

What do you do????

Where shall I take my family after MK closes at 7 pm?? Epcot...well they close at 9 pm. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

READY?????

Go to Downtown Disney!

Yup, join the zombie parade at Downtown Disney!!!!

DtD Parking lots are full -- so are the buses....tons of people wandering our "new Family friendly Downtown Disney" and find.....
More crowded stores (with same old stuff) ....
more food places (with no seating available)...
AMC Theatre......
DisneyQuest (more money)......
Cirque (loads more money...).....
and the icon of the park AEROPHILE...a non Disney attraction!
Wait...where is the new attraction "The Morgue"????

Sorry....to see it you must walk between DtD Marketplace and DtD Westside...yup, that ghost town called "Pleasure Island".

If you look at the buildings carefully, you can still see remains of what was once a premier nightlife showcase for Disney and Central Florida...

Now, it is a filled with a parade of zombies who still ask "What is this?" and "When will they have those long overdue family friendly outlets promised over TWO years ago???"
:rip:

May you haunt the dreams and careers of those who decided to kill you in favor of "more family-oriented offerings".

Vegas tried the same thing several years back, and reverted to the whole "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" thing. Maybe we'll get lucky and the pwers that be will wake up and smell the cashflow.

I'm in town for Kungaloosh next weekend. At least the Adventurer's Club is living on in some limited capacity once a year for the die hard fans. Here's hoping that one day it might return to it's rightful place in Pleasure Island.

hmmmm....I read what limited information there was on the web. Sounds like ya'll are taking over DHS one night and Royal Plaza.

Was I reading into your post hoping that AC would be open for your special event? Am only asking since that is such a fab space for events.

Ah, I hate walking through that area now. We use to have so much fun in there. I'd love to meet the Airhead that thought Disney needed more shops and less fun.
I guess we need to go over to the darkside and head to Universal for a night. Visiting PI was great because it came with a free ride home at the end of the night. To bad they couldn't help us find our room as well. :D:

I completely refuse to go into PI. I won't do it. Whazzup, you said that mapo's post was depressing, but not nearly so much as walking by the old AC building. I was told they have now torn it down, or are about to start. I don't want to know when it happens, I don't want to know when it is done.

I'll never set foot in Pleasure Island again, or the ground where it used to be.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

I'm pretty bitter about the gutting of PI, too... but I can't bring myself to say "never." If they ever do anything worthwhile with the island again I'll go -- but it better be pretty good. (No sign of that yet, of course.)

PI buildings will be up through November at a minimum. After that, no guarantees.

I'm sorry for your loss, BW. Sounds like you are still in mourning. :(
