That's odd. When Mo, Christina and I went on the train. They said not to get out right away. There was a barier on the right. They moved it down and let us off the train in Frontierland. I remember seeing this 2 years ago.

2 years ago I did the Steam Train Tour, no barriers on the right side of the cars.
The show train lacks barriers on the left side :)

The cars themselves have fixed rails on the left side to keep SG's from getting out on the wrong side. The show cars don't have any rails. Any barriers on the right would have been at a station or such.

This I know ;) I am a 3 time veteran of the Steam Train Tour, as well as a fan of the various Disney RR's.

I had an annoying family in front of me on a parking lot tram yesterday. Mom, dad, and two small kids. The mom and two kids were in one row, and the dad in front of them with a stroller. The tram was almost full, and the CM was calling for no further boarding. This family was one of the last on, and the little girl, like 3 years old, wanted to sit on the end. Of course the CM is spieling that all kids must be seated in the middle, and the mom is saying, "See, she's saying that you can't sit on the end!" But that's all, she's didn't make the kid move. At the last second, the dad jumps off and tries to sit in the row with the rest of the family.

Only the kid won't move over, and starts screaming that she wants to sit on the end. The parents are trying to REASON with her, telling her she's not allowed to sit on the end, meanwhile the dad is hanging half off the tram! Of course they can't move the thing, so we're sitting there while the kid throws a tantrum.

I'm fuming, thinking, She's TINY! Pick her up and MOVE her!!!! :mad: Don't sit there holding everyone else up while you try to persuade her to move. Good grief. If my son tried something like that you can bet I wouldn't be just talking to him. I'd move his bratty butt as fast as I could! I just don't get some people.

My old man would have thrown me off the tram and told them to drive off.

If I pulled that stunt, my parents would have waited to get the tram back to the parking lot and go home.

Is your mind melding the steam train with the safari trucks? There are sliding doors on the safari trucks that are manually opened and closed by a CM on the docks.

The steam train in Animal Kingdom also has doors that must be opened by a CM, though their seating layout is different, facing sideways out of the car and only 2 or 3 doors per car. (I seem to recall at least one of the trains in Disneyland had cars with a similar layout)

Same here. And I've been in that situation....BUT I've moved my kid. Yes, I physically laid hands on my child and shoved them to the middle.
