Here's my little buddy. The green tape covers the IV the doc left in place. It makes blood draws easier.

The geckos are safe for a few days. The doc doesn't want her wandering around so we can control her diet.

Poor little Scooter looks so skinny. Glad she's home so you can fatten her up.

Thank God Scooter is home!! I have prayed & prayed. Saint Francis had a candle lit at the ranch 24/7 for Scooter. Thank you hobie for giving Scooter all the best. HOORAY! :dog3: :dog8:

She did lose about a half pound. She's got skinny legs to begin with but the hair makes them look thicker.

We took her back to the vet today so he could see if there was any progress. We kept track of food and water consumption and collected her stool. He was quite happy with her progress.

She hasn't gotten back to being the wild doggie she was before but she looks better every day. I'll know she's 100% when she wants to play tug of war with my finger.

Zero if we can help it. Scooter hasn't shown much interest in hunting anything including her stuffed toys. It'll probably be a few weeks before she's completely healed.

Diet to help her Kidneys? I remember serving patients in the hospital low protein,low sodium, limited potassium diets. Fluids limited, too :(

The doc sent us home with some canned food. I think the main thing is low fat so her liver isn't overloaded. She's also suppose to drink 12 fl. oz. of water per day based on her weight. Have you ever tried to reason with a pooch about consuming something? She wolfs down the food but is on her own schedule with water.

I feel your pain. Trying to get any animal to drink on your schedule is about impossible. I'm glad to see she's back and getting better.

Does she have a water bowl near the kitchen? And will she drink when you wash your hands or run water in the sink? For some reason the minute that Hubby or I start to wash our hands in the sink, our dog will decide it's time to drink from his bowl. (He's a messy drinker that we usually have to wipe after, so we tend to pay attention to when he goes to have a drink.) We've had to use the hand washing trick a couple times when it was really warm and we worried he wasn't drinking enough.
