Question about rehabs from a SG

Post by javaonline » Mon Sep 13, 2010 3:48 pm

This will be our 3rd trip to WDW, and our first with our 2 year old. In 2006, our daughter was 2, and she was just amazed by "Its a small world"...honestly one of the highlights of our trip then. In 2007, it continued to be her favorite. Now its closed the week in October that we're going. Which I understand happens from time to time.

My question is, is there any way to tell if there will be any kind of "soft-openings" during the week we're there (10/2-10/9) or are we just out of luck completely?

Same question for the Mad Tea Party...just found out today it too will be closed during that same week.

I know there is so much other stuff to cover/see...and we'll make new memories, but these two were pretty big in our book. Just wanting to see if there is any hope at all.

Not likely.

it's a small world reopens 10/22 and Mad Tea Party reopens 11/10. Typically soft openings occur randomly around the week prior to their scheduled refurbishment is slated to end - if at all.

I didn't think so, but it happened once before when Spaceship Earth was close to re-opening.

Thanks anyway.

Based on the type of refurb being done to small world, I highly doubt they will open it early.

IASW actually reopens the 23rd. I very seriously doubt there will be any soft openings for it as the ride itself is staying the same. Same with Mad Tea Party. Soft openings are usually reserved for new rides and when an existing ride is changed dramatically.

Nobody read the title and thought something completely different?

Not a CM, but I have never seen a ride open when it's supposed to be in rehab. But my sample set might be too small.

Sorry.

Hi javaonline. Sorry you'll miss those two attractions.
You've had your marsupial welcome so here's the Safety Spiel.
