DLR employee sent home for wearing muslim head covering

Just for the record, I wouldn't care about the hijab if she was wearing it at the Storyteller's Cafe. Employers are always going to try to control things,it's their turf.

And the court should side with Disney. They are not denying her employment, so it should not be an issue.

I read an artical on yahoo this morning about questions your employer could not ask. In the religion segment there was this statement

"Employers are required to accommodate an employee's religious beliefs or practices in regards to things such as dress and grooming policy and flexible scheduling."

I think Disney has made a great effort to do this, she has declined thier offers and chose to go home and create what she thought was going to be negative publicity.

Leads & I were talking abt this last night. We can't wear a cross on stage. We can't wear a cross on our ONE ring per hand CMs are allowed. I'm Catholic & must cover my necklace. Did I know before I signed with DLR? Probably. Does this bother me? Not at all.

I had my Wedding and engagement ring fused together,but I can't imagine that even Disney would be checking on such a thing.....

CMs should encourage their beloveds to get them a very large and expensive ring just in case I am wrong ;)

That's the one exception to the rule - a wedding and engagement ring are considered a set and allowed.

Seriously, don't trust things you read in email forwards. They're meant to scare you, not inform you. Do your own research, know your sources, check your data.

I must respectfully disagree. The person I get them from is someone I've been communicating with for quite some time, and the forward was a direct quote from knowledgable sources.

This is the last time I'll make a statement on this issue. Many times in history, htere were people who sounded the alarm that such-andsuch country or group of people were ready to attack the U.S., and their warnings were disregarded. Right before the attack on Pearl Harbor, there were warnings that Japan was going to attack Pearl Harbor where the U.S. Navy had their fleet. Even as the Zero fighters were approaching and starting to bomb the harbor, frantic phone calls to the brass were rebuffed with warnings against making false reports. It wasn't until the middle of the attack that the brass found out it wasn't a prank. Same thing with 9/11; nobody listened until too late.

I once read soewhere that a historian researched why the great civilizations of the world rose and fell. When I find that article, I will supply it. I can even supply the email forwards upon request. I saved them.

Just remember this when Muslims take over the U.S., and I'll be saying I told you so.

If I were to believe forwarded e-mails I would have to argue that they already have through Obama. :twisted: To my credit, I don't believe anything I read and only half of what I see.
