Wow, Bru! You sure have been through it! I'm never going to complain again if all I'm going through is sore feet or a long work week!

One marsupial checking in... :D:

YAY on the safe and healthy arrival of little miss Catherine Grace! Congratulations, Matterhorn!!! *sigh* babies are so wonderful...

Thanks everybody for reading all that and for the thoughts and well wishes- they must be working! I actually ate lasagna tonight that wasn't obliterated! It tasted SO good!!!

Things are still healing up and right now the worst part is rebound swelling after all the decongestants they had me on  Didn't really have a choice but I don't even take them for colds usually so now my body is not happy with me for stopping them. I keep telling it what I used to tell my toddler on the rare occasion she misbehaved: "have your fit and get it over with and when you're ready to be nice, let me know." Sadly its fits seem to last longer than hers ever did.

Happy to see the Marsupial check in too! It's just so good to see you guys, honestly. So glad to be here.

hugs,
~bru

May I take a moment to vent please?

Five words.

Failed bone graft, post-op infection.

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I didn't know he tried to repair the one socket/sinus with a bone graft- he never said he was going to or I would have told him it wouldn't work. Unfortunately I was in so much pain and so medicated when I got to his office that I wasn't saying much of anything- and so he tried the graft which I know now that, given it has been moving around in there for weeks, has been causing the pain i've been in! Now know why I ended up at U of M three days after surgery! I was not being a drama queen! I only wish they'd warned me of what was likely to happen. I'll spare you the details but it has not been fun.

Another round of antibiotics. And I've got a black eye too from the swelling :( Lovely. But am grateful that so far have dodged another surgery- hoping it stays that way. but at the moment I feel like crud.

Thank you for allowing me that moment.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled catching-up thread.

Oh Bru!
Hope you start feeling better soon. You've been through so much and yet you always seem to have a wonderful sense of humor. :)

Bru, I hope that you will be mending properly STAT!!!!
I would think that is the most horrible pain, I see what my patient's go through with even a moderate infection, let alone a BONE GRAFT.
The swelling and pressure must have been overwhelming :(
Plan to send greetings to the Bru Fairy Soon:bluefairy:
