Maliboomer will not be down for breakfast...

Post by Ms. Matterhorn » Sun Sep 05, 2010 8:45 pm

after Monday. Last day for the Maliboomer, at Paradise Pier in DCA. Anyone know the REAL reason it is being removed?

"Yes, sir, but the water is fake."

Probably because it's not a very Disney-esque ride. It's a Six Flags/Cedar Fair-ish ride and probably wouldn't go with the "new" DCA.

But hey I'd loveee to see Disney put it up for sale, my home park could definetly use it. And maybe throw one or two of the towers into drop tower mode :D:

We'd just need to smash those nice little scream shields with mallets and we'd be good to go ;)

Yes, and I'm glad the the Maliboomer is being removed. Good riddance I say.

It was a bare bones thrill ride that was not up to Disney standards.

And it does not fit the new vision for Paradise Pier.

The park still has Tower of Terror, its basically the same kind of thrill except with a story.

I actually cannot believe that some people got so upset about it being removed. Its not like the ride is unique. If people want a similar experience, they can go to Knott's Berry Farm.

Ever since Tower was built, I've felt no need for Boomer. Especially with those awful "scream shields" they have on there. Its an awfully slow ride too...it takes forever for the attraction to cycle.

I've been on it, and won't miss it when its gone. Bye bye Maliboomer.

RIP Bud Hurlbut.

You will be missed.

I'm also glad that the S.S. Rustworthy will be removed as well.

That back corner of Paradise Pier is going to look very elegant when they are all done.

Its a little late for that. ;)

He is talking about the front "half" that was already removed to prepare for Silly Symphony Swings.
The Rustworthy was designed to look like it had split in half. The second half (with the surfboards and second level) is currently still there...But not for much longer.
