Re: Policing of GAC Cards

Well said, everyone. I have been SO sick of our GAC system recently. I had a Guest in City Hall a few weeks ago who changed his story so many times trying to get "upgraded" from a wheelchair GAC to the arrows that in 5 minutes he gave bad knees, bad backs, behavioral issues, adhd, claustrophobia, autism, and finally CANCER to one of his sons. Then when I told him I could only make the GAC for 6 people at a time and he wanted 10, he claimed his OTHER son had "all that stuff, too." GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

The worst part is that our current management is so afraid of ever getting a Guest Concern regarding a GAC that they'll override us and give the Guest whatever they want no matter how stupid the reason. I don't even TRY to say no to a Guest who won't be helped by a GAC anymore, I just give them one anyways because I don't want to look like an idiot when my managers say yes after I've said no, then process an official concern about what a "cold hearted" person I am because I "don't want to help the Guests."

If the SG are complaining that they have all those problems, they would have some problems riding the attractions.

I know on a GAC card, the max is 6 at Disneyland.

My sister Moe takes care of a family in which the oldest is in a wheel wheer. When the family and her go up to the park, they use the card and it is used properly. Family of 5 plus a LVN. :)

There are plastic sheets that are put over the license plate so when photographed it's just a bright reflection. There's also some spray that does the same thing.

IIRC the Mythbusters tested those things in an episode and they all failed.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Darnit, now I want sushi...but I can't get out of the office for lunch... WAAAAHHHHH!

I am a fat chick, and my skinny friends eat way more and work out less than I do. I'm a size 22, and eat less than 2000 calories a day, and work out 4 days a week, and have only dropped 10 lbs in 2 months. My doctor, who SWEARS that all I would need to do is "diet and exercise" is quite confused now. I taught karate as an assistant instructor as a size 18, and I was working out 6 times a week, and didn't drop pound 1.

If I had been the guest in line with this idiot, they'd have had to kick me out for going off on him and using all kinds of non-family friendly language to do it.

My grandmother died of brain cancer, and I would not wish that on ANYONE. To claim that just to get perks makes me want to kick that man in the crotch repeatedly until he had a high enough pitched voice to be one of the animatronics in Small World.

Sigh. I know Disney can't ask for proof, but darnit, this is one of the reasons why they should be able to ask. That idiot is why I got stares and bad looks when my back went out and I had to use a wheelchair to finish the rest of my day.

Drink at least 12 oz. of water just before eating every meal. It'll take up space normally filled by food. Don't try to cram everything on your plate in. If you feel full toss the rest.

I always think I would love to work at Disney, then I read a story like GuestJockey's and am not sure I'd be able to handle people like that as well as they did! Good job!
