"A little swordplay, now and then, keeps my mind off sheep!"
"You're messing with my Zen thing, man."
"Dreams are as portals,
flat visions of misty places,
fragments bound below my surface,
but I can write dreams,
they flow from me,
inscribed but now unbound,
I touch them,
and they are real,
and they are real."

I think I'm going to be sick.Kifaru wrote:having encountered a mother toting her ten day old infant around DAK, and once seeing an infant with notable blisters from sunburn being marched down the Boardwalk in his buggy on their way to EPCOT, I think nothing will surprise me anymore. Dismay, but not surprise.
Let me explain: I've had sunburn so severe, it was black & the sun poising to go with it. I was young, and although my parents put sunblock on me, we stayed at the beach (in the middle of July) from 9am until 3pm. I am pale....put it this way, if I walk outside during summer, I practically catch fire.
Anyway, my boys are both very pale like their mom. My little one (the 2 1/2 year old) doesn't even go outside to play in the yard without a pound of sunblock on him (and, yes, I slather it on). While we're down in WDW, I am constantly reapplying and making sure he wears his hat and is covered as best as possible.
I know what sunburn feels like and I wouldn't want that for anyone. I think I probably would've asked that mom what her damage was. I don't think I could've stayed quiet. Although....that's one reason we don't go to outdoor waterparks....too many chances to get burned (I'm the type that can be on the beach for only an hour at 9am, under an umbrella, completely covered with towels and clothes and STILL get sunburned!)
Re: Blizzard Beach stupid Mother trick!
I have been through sun burns and also had skin cancer.
Each morning before I go to work, I apply 110 sun screen to my face.
For bad sun burn, my friend's neighbor told us to take a bath with luke warm water and white vinager. It brought down the pain. It took about 1 week before I was able to take a normal shower.
I live in a condo complex, these stupid parents don't put any sun screen on their little ones. After swimming in the pool all day, these kids are burnt.
School starts here tomorrow. These kids are going to me majorly cranky.

I'm sorry, CujoSR, but I'm going to have to correct you on this one. It is not "Oh, the humidity!"...CujoSR wrote:Oh the Humidity! ;)
It is "Oh, the stupidity!" :cat1:

Start an aloe plant in a flower pot. We've got one on the patio. The plant gel is great for any type of burns and is self replenishing.

After seeing her and the baby in the innertube floating...I hope they drained the area and did a acid wash.

Hobie, I have actually killed an aloe plant. Yes, an aloe plant. Therefore, I buy the colored aloe in the drugstore...either green or blue, they're both about the same. It does soothe the burn and it doesn't smell nearly as bad as it did 15 years ago.
Does anyone remember Noxema? My grandmother used to put that on me for sunburn when I was little.

Don't ever admit that to a Hawaiian. They might have the night marchers pay you a visit. :D:DragonFox98 wrote:Hobie, I have actually killed an aloe plant. Yes, an aloe plant.
