I don't think so. I've seen families that are going to do a kid swap in line with a baby. Of course, the baby is clearly not going to sneak on, so maybe that's different from a borderline kid.

The policy on ride-alongs officially changed recently, at least at WDW. It is now 100% official, CMs can NOT ride-along with any guest under 18 years of age, period. I know for a fact that everybody in Fantasyland Ops had to sign off saying they have been informed of and understand the new policy and I'm willing to bet everybody who works in Ops everywhere had to sign off as well.

You could get a CM to either watch the younger child or ride the ride with the older child in one circumstance that I know of: Hire a VIP tour guide. It'll cost you hundreds an hour (I forget if it's $300 or $600), with a minimum of 3 hours.
Then, and only then, will a CM willingly take your child. Otherwise, it's a huge liability issue.

Yeah, at MK we can be a bit anal about making sure we have documentation of policy changes that can lead to litigation.

The policy applies to all WDW parks.

I've had people ask me to watch the short snowflake so that they can ride the ride with the snowflake that is tall enough to ride. God forbid Mommy and Daddy are inconvenienced in any way.

Our first WDW trip - guilty

see I hadnt found any boards ( no board X - and we had a grand time - but I did a stupid guest trick) I read about Child Swap - but didnt "read" about child swap - went on Test Track (I think child was tall enough) she got to the ride, and refused to ride it, so I asked if we could do the child swap thing -

that poor CM - um you are to do that BEFORE you get in line and board...

I felt like *duh, oh - I was sorry got off and was going to exit - but they sprinkled magic, let us ride - and they went with DD -

I believe this was 6 or more years ago tho!!

I work at a regional theme park (not Disney) right now. My ride is one where children between certain heights must be accompanied by a responsible adult. In our case, there must be one adult per short child.

If I have an extra person (breaker just came back, we're cleaning, etc.) I can have somebody ride with the kid. I'm normally the one who does it since I am the lead. I have ridden with parents in the boat and without. I would not ask one of my male employees to do this however as people tend to be more leery.
