And Now

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.
Forum rules
At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

well...I guess Bella could go to college now that she's got all that time on her hands (considering the don't sleep). My argument is that I guess the books were "good enough" for me. Even when I was a teenager, I wanted edgy and exciting not "I'm going to throw my life away for a guy" type of book. Give me The Stand any day.

I could never stand romance as a teen... but I won't claim my choices were constantly better. Mostly I raided my father's sci-fi and speculative fiction... but then that resulted in my reading Neil Stevenson's "The Diamond Age" at 13, because my father forgot about the orgy in the middle of the book when I asked to borrow it. Whoops.

YES! I Loved Stephen King since reading The Lot about age 13,read every one of his books until my water broke while reading The Tommyknockers :D:
There was a lot of sex in King's books, too, but it was all about the scare factor ;)

I was joking about Beauty School because my ditsy, long story,SIL thought that my niece who is getting her GED shortly should "get away from all the stress she's been having, and go learn to be a beautician......or a pharmacist"

Love it!!!!

@DisneyMom....beautician seems to fit just fine!!! I sometimes wonder hoe the girls attending the local vo-tech for cosmetology actually get it....sometimes they do seem to be dumber than a rock! :) As for a pharmacist: what?!? I was a pharm tech for three years and I'd like to see someone think it's a "thinkless" position step into that! (especially when the addicts need their vicodin or oxycodone...that was always tons of fun)

Yeah,my SIL is a little out of touch. Hopefully Niece inherited something from
our side of the family ;) Mommy just was looking on the internet to see what made the big bucks in this economy.....I said skip beauty school and send her to the JC until she figured out what she really likes.
