EMH for CMs?
Is there a legitimate way for CMs to get EMH access besides booking a hotel room? I have some friends who will be in town and would like me to join them for EMH.

Re: EMH for CMs?
Not that I know of, especially since one shows their resort ID to access EMH offerings.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

Re: EMH for CMs?
Are they still only checking at attraction entrances, or have they brought back the wristband system to id the resort guests ?
It seems to me that there were a lot fewer guests wandering the parks during evening EMH when you only showed your resort ID to get a wristband. Now, non resort guests can hang in the park as long as they dont do any attractions.
One of my favorite EMH memories is of my daughter and I in an almost empty Hollywood Studios one evening while mom nursed a headache back at the room. That was in the wristband days. Last trip (December) seemed like there were huge numbers of people hanging in the parks, even though most attractions were minimal lines.

Resort IDs are checked at attraction entrances. There's nothing wrong with non-resort guests staying in the parks during evening EMH IMO. EMH applies to the attractions, non-resort guests can shop or just hang around all they want.delsdad wrote:Are they still only checking at attraction entrances, or have they brought back the wristband system to id the resort guests ?

Please state the nature of the medical emergency.
"A little swordplay, now and then, keeps my mind off sheep!"
"You're messing with my Zen thing, man."
"Dreams are as portals,
flat visions of misty places,
fragments bound below my surface,
but I can write dreams,
they flow from me,
inscribed but now unbound,
I touch them,
and they are real,
and they are real."

For high values of "legitimate"....kurtisnelson wrote:Is there a legitimate way for CMs to get EMH access besides booking a hotel room? I have some friends who will be in town and would like me to join them for EMH.
Go to your friends' resort, and have them put you on their room for the night. This will get you a resort card and EMH access for both days.
Down side: if there are already two adults in the room, it's a $25 surcharge ... if the front desk cast cares. Not great, but still cheaper than an All-Stars room.
Worse: if the room already has the maximum number of permitted guests, this won't work at all ... again, if the FD cast are paying attention.

Hmmmm....I understand what Shorty is saying about if they want to stay and hang out, cool!Shorty82 wrote:Resort IDs are checked at attraction entrances. However, our staffing levels are not sufficient for all those extra people who feel that using everything but attractions is their *right*. As a bonus, we get even more problems with these guests.
Question: When you are working your attraction, how many non Disney resort guests do you get who "just wanna ride one more time"? How long do they hold that queue up?
How many coordinators, managers, security, custodial, park operations, and entertainment cast are utilized to deny access to attractions or entertainment that resort guests are supposed to enjoy as a perk of being a resort guest?
Oh, and at the end of EMH hours (evening of course), how many of those same people are holding us up so we can finally close the damned park?
Guests pay that premium rate to enjoy the perks of staying on property. They get 24/7 Disney magic (we hope), a world class transportation system, themed rooms and pools, and EMH.
Now with all those leeching non Resort guests using our transportation, pool and recreation areas (non paying recreation), and EMH, we end up with a crippled transportation system, over crowded resort pool areas, limited access to recreation offerings, and milling crowds of non resort guests impacting the EMH experience.
Chip and Dale's bonfire and movie is bursting at the seams -- way more than the number of guests staying at the Fort. Pools are over crowded by pool hoppers and idiot CMs risking their jobs to hang at the resort pool. Buses are running at way higher capacity than can be accounted for by resort guests or day Guest diners. And the list goes on....
If these people want the full Disney experience, get a room. If not, get out. This party is not for you and Disney no longer tolerates party crashers as we have in the past. Too many problems come with party crashers.
*sigh* Yes, it has been a long summer. Sorry for the tirade.

Re: EMH for CMs?
I was surprised to learn that WDW had done away with the bracelet system... it seemed like a better way for crowd control. And the general feeling on all the "Board Xs" out there is that WDW now wants these non-resort guests to stay in the park and consume the food and spend money in the shops.mapo wrote:Hmmmm....I understand what Shorty is saying about if they want to stay and hang out, cool!

As a resort guest (even if I am a cheapskate who stays in values) I would also be frustrated and non-resort guests consuming the perks that I get for staying on property.

Sounds like a not too bad option.Zazu wrote:For high values of "legitimate"....

As far as the non-resort guests hanging in the park, I don't think upper management cares as long as they are still shopping/eating. Not to say that the management who actually have to hang around doesn't care.
