Wallaby is great.
It's a absolutely wonderful show :D: . I had the distinct pleasure of seeing it recently. Absolutely fabulous. Very entertaining and engaging.
If you haven't seen it yet, go see it. If you aren't near Central Florida, get a cheap Southwest flight and get down here! You won't regret doing so!

I am suddenly reminded of an old SNL bit, one of their "fake ads". It was for a stage show starring a hypnotist. Every audience member they talked to as they left the show would say in the same monotone voice the following: "I loved it. It was much better than Cats. I'm going to see it again and again."

Going to have to disagree with you there, Lasolimu. Cats happens to be a favorite of mine. Given that it was the 2nd longest running Broadway show, and the 4th longest running in the history of musical theater, I would say that I'm not alone.Lasolimu wrote:That's not too difficult.![]()

I don't know what it is about Andrew Lloyd-Webber musicals. I rarely get to first-run shows, but I'll usually hear the soundtrack at some point and my reaction always seems to be the same -- I'll like one or two songs but dismiss the rest as not very good. But then I'll listen to it all again. And again and again. And at some point my opinion will change and I'll decide I really enjoy it all. (Question for Big Wallaby: Can you work hypnotic suggestions into a musical score???)PatchOBlack wrote:Going to have to disagree with you there, Lasolimu. Cats happens to be a favorite of mine. I've been on a Cats kick again lately, since the Ovation channel ran the 1998 video release a few weeks ago. At the very least, it provided me with a new way to annoy my kids, by singing Cats songs to them when they were dragging their heels in doing any chore. "Old Deuteronomy" was particularly effective.

I have only seen it once, very recently, and have absolutely no desire to ever see it again. Most of the characters were completely forgettable and I only found one song very memorable. I was even told by someone who has seen several different versions(including Broadway as I recall) and was told that this was one of the best performances of it they had ever seen, in other words, if I didn't like this one, chances are I wouldn't like any version. I think it's popular simply because it's Andrew Lloyd Webber and not actually a good show.PatchOBlack wrote:Going to have to disagree with you there, Lasolimu. Cats happens to be a favorite of mine.
