Oh I know you are.
I am waiting for the day that "LOLCat" talk is made part of the learning system though.

One of the few times I felt Disney didn't step up to the plate:Lasolimu wrote:I remember my first trip to WDW where it rained everyday, almost at the exact same time, almost so reliable that you may have done reasonably well setting you watch by it. It was a surprise the first day because of how quickly it came on, confusing the second and third because of the consistency, and expected by the fourth. We always managed to find something to do while it was raining, including riding the people mover twice in a row.
One year while staying at CBR it must have been raining for days on end. Anyway it was wreaking havoc on the door locks. We must have been unable to open the door to the room 7 or 8 times. Messed up at least two dinning ressies and I don't remember what else. But their attitude though the whole time was "Too bad." Didn't want some kind of comp so much as a more contrite attitude. Especially after the 4th or 5th time.

Honestly one of my best trips was one where it rained almost every day for the full day...and it was in December. I specifically told my friend that December was a low rain chance time and out of 5 days, it rained for almost 4 of them. But, with ponchos and not caring about wet feet, we had a great time. Thankfully, it was also warmer than I expected.
It did seem as if the rain kept people from the parks. It was just rain, no thunder or lightening so nothing was shut down due to the weather.
I thought my friend was gonna be upset but she thought it was funny and she still finds the pictures of us in front of all the Christmas decorations wearing the rain ponchos pretty funny.

My first CP, I quickly learned to always have an umbrella with me...at ALL times. I can't count the number of times it has been a lifesaver for me.

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

Hmmm, this is reminding me to pack shoes that are comfy when wet!
Two years ago the CM at IASW teased my daughter about "not melting" - we had just arrived at MK for the first day and it began to rain. She wasn't too happy about it and the CM called out to her "Your a Girl Scout, they don't melt!" It totally confused my daughter (she was wearing her Girl Scout t-shirt!) and I guess she realized she was being silly. Of course, she was just 7.
I did appreciate the CM calling her out on it! Helped to back us up!

I will apologize to the Guest and tell them that the umbrella that covers the Park is out for warranty repair.

A few years ago, my sister and a friend from high school were on the way to my aunt's home. We had hurricane Ike come over us and the rain was following us from MCO to the back side of the MK.
When we got to my aunt's house, my sister Moe went outside in the pouring rain. I thought she was nuts until I ran outside and ran after the ice cream truck. Both of us were drenched.
Yes, off and on liquid sun shine. We got use to it and had allot of fun. But the humidity was extreme. :D:

Moe is a nut! Certified! Yet one of the funniest, friendliest, nicest ones I've ever met.turkeyham wrote:my sister Moe went outside in the pouring rain. I thought she was nuts

I don't understand why rain chases people out of the parks. That bad storm in June, Frontierland looked like a ghost town. Just a few melty types under the overhangs and in the stores, and us out in the rain. Everyone else was fleeing. We hung around, drank some lemonade in the rain, then voila - the rides opened up after an hour or two. There wasn't much of a line for anything, since so many people had gone. It was puzzling.
Same thing at BB - we hit the BB parking lot just after it had rained heavily and there were still clouds overhead. The lot was near empty so we got a front-row space. All the slides were shut down but you could still go in, which we did. Found lounge chairs, np. Got a locker, np. Waited 30 minutes and then the slides started reopening. The crowds remained thin, not much of a wait for anything.
So again - I'm not sure why people run when the rain starts. It seems to me they'd be better off just hanging out, enjoying the scenery, waiting for stuff to reopen.
