Ear-Force One

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.
Forum rules
At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

I think so Brain, but this time, can we fill all the vuvuzuelas with concrete before we start instead of after?

OK M... Your simple question was answered on the first post. And I Quote:

Asked and answered. Second of all:

I should point out that you did not post your question in the correct forum in the first place.

Frankly I am getting a little annoyed by everyone not following this information BUT like a cop on a freeway who can't possibly ticket EVERY car going over the speed limit, I can't possibly put everyone in the stocks for it, but like the cop I can pull over the fastest mother on the freeway and read him the riot act. My point?

Try not to get my attention unless you want it.

To complain about the stupid people we have to work with, of course!

You *did* read the large print on the home page, right?

As for "Ear Force One", that term was applied to the Company jet as well as the balloon, and there have been at least two Mickey balloons, the first made in 1987 {1}, the second in 2006 {2}. According to the company that operates it, the second balloon is presently in storage awaiting the call to service.

There! Now are you satisfied?

Oh wait, you've put me on your Ignore list, haven't you. So the answer you seek is here in plain sight, but you refuse to look at it. Now that is rich!

Shhh! Nobody tell him!

Wait... I think I can straight a lot of this out...

Cujo: The "Backlot Tour" answer to the original question was incorrect, because the respondant was thinking of the plane (called "Mickey One") on the Backlot Tour. The OP was thinking of the Mickey-shaped hot air ballooon.

Mr. M: You have to realize that the CMs on these boards come here from all aspects of the company, from all type of roles, from both coasts, and even from other continents. Very few people, even CMs within the Disney company, are fully-versed in the minutia of Disney's past, especially when it refers to a hot air balloon that obviously hasn't been seen in a long, long time.
The "Backlot Tour" reply, while wrong, was truly an error in understanding by the respondant. They *thought* the name of the plane was Ear-Force One, and made a good-faith reply as such.

I pride myself on my wide knowledge of Disney park trivia, but even I am wrong sometimes. And when I do post something that's incorrect here or on Board Y, I'm corrected by others in the know.

So I don't know how the discussion spiraled downward into a discussion of FAA regulations and licensing and turd-calling, but I hope that's at least straighted *some* of the misunderstanding out.

As for the original question, *my* best-guess answer would be that it's probably been retired (or at least put into storage) and replaced with the Cinderella Castle balloon and the Spaceship Earth balloon. Rides in each of those balloons were prizes in the Year(s) of a (Two) Million Dreams promotion a few years back.

Wrong! The answer give was about some air plane. Not the balloon called Ear-Force One
CujoSR wrote:Second of all: I should point out that you did not post your question in the correct forum in the first place.
Then maybe there needs to be a forum for general questions for each park.
The Break Room is too "off topic" for such questions.

And again, that is why I asked the question openly, hoping that someone out of the large group here would know and answer.

Thank you for an actual answer. I do not know why that was so hard for some. Or even a "Hum. I don't know what happen to it, good question."

Anyway. Everyone else have fun trashing this thread.

REALLY unclear on the concept of this board!

If you need to have trivia answered, perhaps you should seek a different discussion board.

choose any letter you feel is correct.

Yes, your right. What was I thinking coming to a board full or cast members to get info about Disney. :banghead:
