Steve, it was very nice to meet you tonight. You sound like most of the rest of
the pilots I've met... enjoyable to work with.
Now, to hunt down Driver_Dylan... or DC, as I guess he's called...

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

I'm not hard to find, thought I have been out with the flu for the last three
days. I normaly can be found at MK or on the resort line, and I work nights.
Stop by say hi. Oh, I usually have Wednesday off. :)

I always treat the front cab as a privilege and not a right. I have emptied the
front cab before, and not felt guilty about it either. I was driving the resort loop
(as usual) A family of eight wanted to board the front cab at the Contemporary,
we explained that only four could go. They kept insisting that ALL EIGHT could
fit. I continued to tell them that we can have only four. I pulled out of the
contemporary and drove to base. Now this was the days several years ago, that
the driver loaded their own trains at base. So I get out of my cab and close the
cab door. When I was walking down to load the train, I heard the cab door
re-open. When I got back to the cab, all eight were inside, the first words out
of their mouth was "See we fit". This angered me, so I told them to get out of
the cab. The family went down to the original four. I said NO YOU LOST YOUR
PRIVILEGE get out of my cab! The cab went emptied, and I re-loaded it at the

When we were in WDW we were given the privilige of being able to ride in theBig Wallaby wrote: Of course, you have the added whammy that the person sitting in front of

front of the monorail on the way from TTC to MK. The gentleman (can't
remember his name) was very polite and answered all of our questions. We
were impressed by how he was able to controll that train. He explained to us
how he knew when to stop and I have to admit that we were impressed with
how much training he said he had to go through. It really convinced me that
it was much harder than it looks. He had to stop several times and we
thought it was rather awesome that he was able to stop before the mark he
was supposed to. He also made me feel safer while in the train. (I was afraid
that it was going to fall off the tracks)

dearest churchy...i am so sorry that you're not able to go to dl because
some stupid people causing problems for you... :( ...pin trading can be a
very nasty business...really cut throat...there's a guy there

purports to be a trader (he's there all the time), but never has a nice word to
say...
so if this is your "happy place" think happy thoughts here...and we'll all try to
keep you happy :) [/font]

I used to park for free in Downtown Disney and then take the monorail as it was
closer for me to get to the pin trading and there was food, water, bathrooms
and friends along the way.
One nght the monorail through its bushings. I and two other people said we
could not walk back to the monorail station. One of the drivers pushed me all
the way through DL to the other monorail station. They had a couple other
drivers pushing people as I remember. That driver was so nice and we talked
along the way and I learned that the drivers were very special people and some
inside stuff.

Thanks! We will ask next time we are there. I do not mind waiting severalDriver_dylan wrote: The official way.
ASK That is it. I can't tell you how many people will just walk up to the
front and stand there. Then when someone asks, I get the inevitable. "But we
we were waiting." The good news is that I have not yet caved to these
people and usually make them wait another train. Just remember, Safety
before Efficiancy. Also, remember that the number in the cab is set by Reedy
Creek, and not by us.
trains if there are others ahead of us and don't mind 2 others joining us. It is
an experience we would like to try and NOT bug the driver. I just think it
would be a memorable part of a trip to DL or WDW. We usually get on at DtD
in DL or if we are in WDW at the Contemporary where we stay.
Thanks all for the tips. We hope to be waving at y'all from the front of the
Monorail next trip! :)
