Bathroom ?? for CM's
Bathroom ?? for CM's
Are the companion bathrooms really only for those who are disabled? I ask because I got chewed out on another board for suggesting that a mom who was going solo on this trip with her 3 small children use this bathroom.
I have had to use it several times while on vacation and husband was playing golf and I was alone with our 2 children one who was in a stroller and every time I have used them there was no one waiting in line when we got there or even waiting in the 5 minutes max that it took to use the restroom and change a baby. I do not want to use them if it is not allowed but I have to say I was told about them by a CM at the baby care center so I assumed it was OK.

You will always get chewed out on the board for this (I know, I did!!!). I used the companion bathrooms on our first (2006) and second (2007) trips when my kids were younger (I couldn't guarantee they wouldn't "wander" once they were done washing their hands). I see no problem with it...as long as there isn't anybody actually needing it waiting.
I admit, I also use the one in Germany when my son threw a temper tantrum and needed a quiet place for a few minutes. I sat him on the counter and waited until the tantrum was out of him before we continued on our way.

They are considered "family bathrooms." You're fine.
That board amuses me, they have a strange code of ethics.

And when I told them that I was told about these restrooms by a CM in the baby center the basically said the CM was an idiot or I was lying. The CM told me this so I did not have to keep coming up to the baby center. It is amazing how they know more than the people who are trained to work there.

Just use them if needed, and ignore board X. I did, turned out fine. Mickey wasn't waiting there with his nephews to rough me up for it.

ADA asks for "equal access" not superior access, so unless you were to use the bathroom for an unusual amount of time, preventing someone else from using the bathroom entirely, I don't see a problem. Of course, if I see someone waiting for it who obviously needs THAT bathroom, I would step back and offer to let them go first, common sense and politeness should always prevail :)
On that note, Did anyone else hear Sherri Shepard on The View say that you got "Front of the Line" priveledges when you take a special needs child to Disney yesterday? I think Disney owns ABC, hopefully they set her straight

Get yourself a snack and a cold beverage.
Then go "over there" and post you used a handicapped stall because it was the only one available.
