So far, so good. Made it thru the first day of travel, and resting in our Memphis hotel (free wi-fi, yay!) before going for dinner. Elder son Brandon drove some of the way. Tomorrow we drive across TN, with a little Nashville sightseeing along the way.

Yes...Tony Luks does them the way I like them (with provolone) but they also do them wid wiz as my hubby likes it. Some people say it isn't a real cheesesteak unless it's with whiz...I disagree...as long as it's from Philly!

BRW, old Ryman Auditorium is a must see! Stained glass, wooden church seats & just all the history gives an amazing feeling. Church St. off ramp. Printer's Alley is such fun too. Great grits there. Vanderbuilt is also awseome.

Well, I missed the Ryman -- didn't see your post until tonight -- sorry! We probably passed right by it since we took the Church St exit, but we were headed for the HQ of the Barbershop Harmony Society on 7th St. Not surprisingly it was closed -- everyone's up in Philly. It was cool enough seeing the exterior, tho -- they've done an amazing job with it. Then we went to look at the Grand Old Opry and Opryland Hotel before moving on.

<i>Loved</i> the drive across TN --nice to see trees and mountains! We're with friends in Maryville for the night, then northeast thru VA tomorrow!

Grand Old Oprey...that sure brings back memories! I played the Oprey back when Opreyland still existed. Won first place in a Jazz band competition back in the mid '80's. You can feel the history when playing that stage - ESPECIALLY when you get to solo. Still remember the feeling like it was yesterday...

Gotta save more money to get a new Sax....
