I am disappointed that these are intended as vacation homes and not residences. I was giving serious though to buying one after I hit the Lottery so I could cut down on my commuting time.

If they're vacation homes, does that prevent the owner from having a vote in the local elections?

Parties of 33 should consider dividing their parties into two groups of 16 and a half each.

It's an interesting question. The official response is as follows:
Golden Oaks Realty wrote:What municipality governs Golden Oak?
Golden Oak represents the first opportunity for individuals to enjoy whole homeownership at the Walt Disney World® Resort. Golden Oak residents are under the governance of Orange County, Florida.
Given that the area is being sold to buyers wholesale (land and all), that seems to suggest that Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S., Inc. will continue to own the common areas, in order to maintain the area as part of the Walt Disney World Resort. However, at the same time, the area will probably be deannexed from the Reedy Creek Improvement District and merged with Orange County.

Last year my Disney income was about 4 or 5 percent of my total income. And in about another year my total income will jump by about 1/3 when I have to start taking withdrawals from my 401(k) so the Disney will drop down to about 3%. I do it to have to get at out of the house at least two days a week, and to save money on park entry and discounts.
