ALWAYS look for a name badge on a Cast Member - don't walk up to someone who's wearing a pin lanyard and ask if they work there because several guests wear pin lanyards (it's a little thing called pin trading). Thanks!

I would add, when you check for the name badge, make sure it's a white Cast Member badge, and not one of the other-colored "Guest of Honor" badges that many guests have. :)

Ernie has been on Bereavement leave for a month. He returns today, if possible. I'm not sure if he will lead Color Guard or attend Flag Retreat today due to the emotional trauma. Ernie's twin sister, Ernestine, was very ill the first of May. He & his entire family from Chicago, Va. & Ga. went to be with Ernestine. He returned from N.J. on a Thurs. totally exhausted. Ernie called Ernestine the next night & felt she might be better. Within hrs. after they lovingly spoke Ernestine was gently taken by God. Ernie repacked for the sad trip back to N.J. where all the family again gathered. The loss of a twin is an extremely deep wound most can't comprehend. The loneliness is a void which will not be filled nor forgotten. Not ever. Ernie was a brother plus Ernestine's twin, thus much of the service was planned with him totally involved. How he so gracefully handled the service & poignant farewell to his twin amazes me. Ernie just returned Mon. He is emotionally drained, & has been sleeping most of the time - when the pain allows rest.

All positive messages & support for Ernie - he Needs them - are welcomed on Facebook page. Key DisneyLandFlagRetreat. Ktulu, will you please post the click link on thread for me? I can't get this to cooperate. Anyone wanting to send cards or notes to Ernie can PM me. I will print for him or give a snail address.

While on the subject of support - I must Thank Ktulu for his caring, loyal concern, & words which still bring tears, yet help heal. Thank you too BW for your heart, friendship, & forwarding. Shorty, thank you for giving Ernie so much kindness. I can always count on your strength. You three are such honorable men.
Missed Ernie Saturday, but will send a message :(

This evening - Father's day 6-20-2010. This guy was ticked off at his wife this evening. He said I want to see the World of Color and they ran out of fasspasses in New Orleans! Dang! I keep on hearing the advertising the show is at DCA! If you are going to aim for Fantasmic!, you are in the correct location.

As for World of Color- get there early and get your Fastpasses- our friends did, but we were late and did the Picnic Box. I didn't really like the Antipasto one much except for the Tiramisu :( Small amount of food, maybe the others are better.
Everyone else really loved the show, but I couldn't see it as we were in the back of the Yellow section and I'm short. I think I will try the more expensive Ariel's Grotto meal/fastpass/premium viewing if it is a special occasion.

In terms of signing, I have it from Mickey and many of his friends that the easiest pens to sign with are normal pens. Slightly fatter pens work well, but the characters are quite adept at signing with just a regular pen. The ones that will mean a bad signature are the exceptionally fat or long ones. They are hard to hold and often the weight is funny. The other thing that is hard are those mini sharpies! The characters all cringed when those came out!
I heard from Koda that the most difficult autograph request he ever got from a guest was to sign with a golf pencil on the (slick paper) Epcot brochure!

Seen tonight at Epcot - a kid who looked to be about two climbing the Test Track sign (this one http://www.guide2wdw.com/images/Decembe ... ck%201.JPG ) He'd climb the dashed yellow center section as high as he could, then cling to it and slip back down. Repeat. He was making it up to the third gray section pretty reliably.

I'd really recommend not considering that sign to be a play structure.

Also, from personal experience - when you're sitting the in baby care station, too disoriented to find first aid (which is what I thought I'd gone into) and unable to stop crying because the air conditioning is too cold - the right answer is NOT to drive yourself back to the hotel.

Today was annoying. SG high school kids every where. There was this group that came up and kept on trying to take cuts. I caught them at least 5 times. I told them, like everyone else has to wait in line to get food. Taking cuts in front of 30 hungry people is not cool. I told them to do that several times through out my day. When heading off for my last break, they brats were being followed by security. One kid threw a empty bottle and hit the officer. I picked up the bottle and tossed it. The kids were surrounded and taken away.
